Commentary driving helps to maintain a driver's focus by engaging the brain in every action.
Commentary drive is a powerful self managing training tool that helps you to stay focussed when under pressure and a great method of helping you to drum in the skills you need to drive to test standard.
This is a skill used by not only driving Instructors but also the Police, ambulance service and other blue light drivers to help improve hazard perception, anticipation and planning.
In this video I give you tips on how to use commentary drive to help with control, routines, anticipation, planning and reading road signs.

Routines used and demonstrated in video
POM = Prepare, observe and move (used for moving off from the side of the road or after an emergency stop.
MSM = Mirror, signal, manoeuvre (used for moving up on the left or right or turning left or right and slow down.
MSPSL = Mirror, signal, position, speed and look (used for turning left or right. Pretty much the same as MSM just more detail added.

Useful tool , thank you. Just wandering though , would you recommend it while taking the test and what would the examiners reaction be to this ?

It sure is! I’ve had many pupils use it. If you’re not comfortable doing it out loud practise it before the test and then do it internally. Remaining focused is the key.

This apex corner scare me every time on my lesson my instructer shout at me me when I do mistake on apex corner then I lose my all confidence suddenly then I keep doing mistake don’t know how to come over it

Firstly he/she shouldn’t be shouting at you. If you follow the plan in this video it will help you a lot. But break it down. Get your approach right first. Once you have that down concentrate on the middle part with your instructors help. Then the exit. Doing everything all at once can be overwhelming. Just break it down.
