Para muchos, la mejor banda del soul y jazz-funk británica de todos los tiempos, Incognito es el proyecto vital de su líder Jean-Paul Maunick, guitarrista y cantante que ha ido aglutinando a su lado desde 1981 a lo mejor del acid-jazz, el soul y el funk británico, con numerosas figuras y brillantes músicos que han ido participando en las sucesivas formaciones de la banda a lo largo de cuatro décadas.
La banda o el propio líder han colaborado con estrellas como George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Philip Bailey, George Duke, Al Jarreau o Marcus Miller, entre muchos otros. Doce artistas en el escenario, con grandes cantantes, para una apertura de lujo de la XXIV edición del Festival.

Incognito
For many, the best British soul and jazz-funk band of all time, Incognito is the vital project of its leader Jean-Paul Maunick, a guitarist and singer who has been bringing together at his side since 1981 the best of acid-jazz, British soul and funk, with numerous figures and brilliant musicians who have been participating in the successive formations of the band over four decades.
The band and the leader himself have collaborated with stars like George Benson, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Philip Bailey, George Duke, Al Jarreau or Marcus Miller, among many others. Twelve artists on stage, with great singers, for a luxury opening of the XXIV edition of the Festival.

I was at this gig... a beautiful summers evening, in the open theatre in San Javier... Although the sound on this video doesn't do it justice...It was lush, deep & filled the evening air with huge warm vibes... I've followed Incognito's music since they began & they still sound fresh & vibrant. Thanks Incognito for a great night in Spain....& for the 40 plus years of great music..

I can only imagine how great the experience was and the atmosphere. I went to see them in a small club in Ohio this year with the one and only Maysa. Time of life I will never forget! Took some pics with Bluey and the band members and got the hug I always wanted from Maysa. Long Live INGOGNITO!

Очень классная и позитивная музыка. С большим удовольствием прослушал. Образы артистов тоже добавляют положительного восприятия к паре литров пива. Сижу, пишу научный отчёт и подтанцовываю сидя. Отличный smooth jazz, если не ошибся с названием стиля. Давайте, больше наваливайте такой музыки и таких команд. Все музыканты и артисты молодцы большие. Ударники на 1:12 просто красавцы... Мир всем.

The style of this band is Acid Jazz, not Smooth Jazz. It's important because they are one of the three-four band founders of this style in '80 years

llevo siguiendo a esta banda desde su segundo album, tengo muchos de sus cd pero toda la discografía en música digital así como discos que han editado en japón, o conciertos como uno en particular que dieron en japón con el también espectacular y maravilloso músico brasileño ed motta, son verdaderamente geniales y tienen unos ritmos que es inevitable que se te mueva el cuerpo y te entren ganas de bailar a los ritmos que marcan estos músicos tan increibles, fantástico, me hubiera gustado que en 2020 hubieran dado y editado un concierto de los 40 años, como sí hicieron cuando la banda cumplió 30 y 35 años en la música, da igual, a disfrutar con su música, incluso con los albumes editados en solitario por jean-paul maunick, que también son una maravilla simplemente geniales

Been a fan and following them for over 30 yrs. Just saw them in Chicago in Sep. Maysa was on this show and the singers he had including Tony :), were far better than the ones on this show. I like that he switches it up a bit. Girl with the purple braids is too focused on trying to hit the notes but she killed Always There! Girl in black was a bit flat and nervous, Girl with tattoos was pretty good. All in all this was good. Maysa will ALWAYS be the lead and my favorite vocalist in this band. She is INCOGNITO!!

Actually the person in the purple braids was just focused on trying to shed a life of trauma and abuse that has affected their voice by getting free through this performance. They are homeless and crowdfunding to survive. You can speak on loving someone else without putting others down when you have no clue what their story is.

I had the exact same thoughts. I didn't want to post negative on here but yeah.. it's apparent. Tony is holding it down though! He's one of the best of the new crop of singers. I'm really happy that incognito is still going after all these years and it is a wonderful testament to Bluey's leadership. The number of musicians he quoted at the beginning is stunning! I love this group!! It's fine though, as time goes it's good to evolve and grow and accept new things. This to me is the best part of Incognito!

And I totally agree!;)Tony Momrelle is Amazing and I feel a very underrated vocalist (he and Mo Brandis! ❤) Yea I fell in Love with this group back in the 90's and have been hooked ever since! Incognito continues to amaze me with their constant evolution . I really hope my comment wasn't seen as rude in any way, but as a true fan, I had to be honest!;)

Por fín está todo el concierto!!! Muchas gracias. Los vi en la tele. No sabía que existían, tienen un aire setentero indudable, aunque sean definidos como "acid jazz" la verdad es que suenan mucho a Stevie Wonder, y se nota según el fundador ha explicado, era su músico de cabecera y eso le honra, aunque escriba sus propios temas creo que es justo que toquen lo que les gusta, aunque sea de otras décadas y la buena música debe reconocerse y viajar por todo el mundo, como ellos hacen. Me encantan, intentaré verlos en directo en algún momento. He visto otros conciertos suyos on-line con otros cantantes, tal vez mejores, pero a mí de este grupo me encanta Natalie Duncan, a quien ya conocía y Tony Momrelle. Me gusta también su inglés, se entiende bien, se que son British en su mayoría . Extraordinarios!!

The are called an "acid jazz" band because they are the acid jazz, being one of the band founders of the acid jazz style. Yes, may be some songs look like Stevie Wonders songs, but the rest of the tracks are pure acid jazz, that is a mix between funk and modern jazz

olvidé decir que gracias a esta banda conocí una cantante espectacular como es maysa leak, una de mis cantantes favoritas y que tiene una carrera muy prolífica con una discografía maravillosa, tiene una voz aterciopelada pero con una fuerza y una contundencia impresionantes, otra cosa que agradecer a esta maravillosa banda además de su música, tony monrelle editó un disco muy interesante

Without doubt my favorite jazz funk band. I was at this gig and the sound was stunning and additionally san javier decided to "up" the volume this year. However, Bluey philosophising in what is a foreign language to the vast majority of the san javier audience was probably not the best idea. More tunes would have been better, I think.

@@timmylovesounds Maysa is a singer and Matt Cooper is a musician. Maysa still plays with Incognito, increasing the cachet. With Maysa the cachet of the group increases, while Matt Cooper is the historical keyboardist, the one who gave the musical timbre to the Incognito. Matt Cooper, he's been out of the group for a while... and I don't understand why..

Been to listen to my favorite band of all... incognito, guys I miss matt he gives the light and soul to the band, is not the incognito I know she listen to as usual. The girl in white locks valentine, good high notes, but it wasn't what I expected. thank God tony saved the day......Francesco thank you for the energy your always fantastico. I know these musicians are fresh and everything, but I hardly recognize the nostalgia and the feeling of the music that takes me home. It's not like these singers are owning that stage. But I mean hey; You've got to give these newbies credit where it's due. They held their own at the end. This is their first experience with Incognito afterall. As for the keyboard player, he needs alot of work to can hang with the flow of Incognito soul. Otherwise he's good potentially.

The sad thing is that as visitors and not members of San Javier Jazz club we are forced to sit on the far left of right to the stage and cannot see well, this has happened to me five times so I just stopped going there as I have to drive far to get there, for me its just not worth it because if this

To add more to my comment. The woman that sang with Tony Momrelle is struggling with her phrasing as well as forgetting some of the lyrics in the second verse of Still A Friend Of Mine. That makes me question: Did any of the vocalists ever listen to these songs of old? Because Still A Friend Of Mine is an anthem song for this band! You can't mess up here!

First time hearing INCOGNITO and what a great band, but I wasn't feeling some of the female singers. Maybe they should just stick with one singer being Natalie Duncan or Tony Momrelle? Just a thought.
