Emerald, you and your sister are some of the best advertising your family business could ask for. Here again while operating as the family business, you have simultaneously showcased a potential custom cutting operation to create a value added log among your varied skills. Ever take a moment and splash some water on a nice cut like to bring out the character? Try a good sized burl sometimes if you havent already. -Bob...

My dad made a six drawer and 12 drawer dresser and a matching sewing cabinet out of that. Cherry and it does age. Very nice. If you think about it, ask Grandpa if he remembers when that outfit came down from New York state. Went to Bradford cross 6 to Towanda and wanted the black walnut roots for gun stocks in whatever else it was in the late '60s. Then they went up to Binghamton across in Elmira and that area. I'd like to see some of that work. Thanks. Great job. Stay well, stay safe

Well done! Cherry 🍒 is one of the finest woods there is. It is one of the very few woods that age with a natural pleasing patina. To stain cherry is like hooking a horse trailer onto a Corvette. Thankfully it is a renewable resource that many future generations can enjoy.

Sullivan county and Northern Lycoming county have the Worlds best Cherry trees and the lumber from the Cherry logs . Some sawers use a 12" or 14" drywall knife to clean off the saw dust from the board , it is faster than a brush and then they put water on the board to show the color of the wood better . Should saw some of that kind of stuff in thicker sizes for table top and shelves , maybe 1 1/2" - 2" - 3" . Probably a higher dollar board when killin dry . Some times logs that look the worst will make the neatest boards with wild grain and make holes too .

What a beautiful piece of wood. Cherry, walnut and curly maple are three that I love the look of especially once they have been finished into a piece. Expensive for the DIY'er oh yes but so satisfying to stand back and look at a finished piece. I can see that type A personality in Jade from the way she takes such care in stacking slabs coming off the mill. I say this as a positive as far too many people are careless and sloppy when it comes to their work, good on you Jade👏thank's for another really interesting video
