Incredible day at RAF Lakenheath (inc RAF Typhoon oon Missed Approach!)

Every now and again at Lakenheath, the F-15s will hot pit giving all the spotters a chance to see the Eagle in action many times throughout the day. However, on this day we all got treated to a typhoon from RAF Coningsby which came in and did a very low approach on Runway 24! Please Like and Subscribe!

It's good to see Lakenheath is still as active as ever. The best 6.5 years of my career were spent there 1994-2000. I actually worked out at RAF Feltwell as a PMEL tech. Part of the 48 CRS. Spent a lot of time on Lakenheath calibrating the jet engine test cells. The 48th is the best fighter wing in the USAF! Met my wife in Downham Market in 1994, married in 95, daughter born in 97.

Definitely is the best wing! Always try to visit when I have spare time. Sounds like you've had an exciting career, have you been down there recently or are you not local?

That was a cute little plane at the 4:00 mark. It would look pretty in a skirt. I just looked and, assuming I got the silhouette correct, that's a typhoon....? What I read said it has 1/2 the range and 1/2 the payload and 4/5 of the speed of the old F15. Are there any plans in the works to improve it?

@@stuartgarwood8015 Really? Is it going to be doing acrobatics while the missiles are coming at it? Or, did you mean that it's going to give the F-15 a bjob?
