A great movie. My dad took my brother and I to go see it when it was at the movies. When we got home my mum had moved out. Worst parental plan ever.......

The movie was amazing for two reasons: One, because of the impressive special effects and cast of characters, and two, the movie paid homage to the American Revolutionary War merged with UFOlogy and H.G. Wells' novel, The War of the Worlds, as the aliens, later named Harvesters, represent the British Imperialists (even their biomechanical suits in the novelization were primate-like aliens parasitically wore them for spacetravel and body armor as they represent African slaves), and humans represent the American colonists where as we reverse-engineered the aliens' technology during the Roswell crash, this led to their return as to study human civilization and strip planetary resources, as the novelization stated that their spacecraft can be 'grown', which they needed biomatter from, mostly humans first, to grow their spacecraft, but their arrogance on their advanced technology compare to primitive human tech led to their downfall as using human-alien hybrid technology against us was a big mistake as humanity used their own signal against them. In the American Revolutionary War, the American Rebels defeat the British Army and Navy's advanced technology using guerrilla warfare tactics.

Be gentle. I loved this movie as a child.
