THIS is brilliant writing! I love the twist where yelling and shooting more defeated the force field. Genius.

The aliens in the first one was mysterious and creepy, because you did not see much of them. Now they are just monsters.

This movie proves that Roland is brilliant at storytelling and world building and he has some brilliant ideas... but he can’t direct actors. I do hope we see a third film but leave directing actors to someone else and have him on the ideas and world building side of things.

Would it kill scriptwriters to do something halfway sensible for once ? -You've got VTOL fighters which can hover. Why are they doing strafing runs close enough to be shot at or physically struck ? -The base defenses. Why aren't the energy weapons using something like a phalanx anti-aircraft cannon with automated radar-guided targeting faster than a human can do so ?

This movie had the potential to be as great as the first, it had the potential to be wayy better. The queen has massive space fleets, millions of fighter pilots, huge drone ships and mega carrier. With the technology to cross interstellar space, but she's going to risk her life to get down on the ground and chase a bus full of kids and not be able to catch it?? The Blue Bird bus was able to out maneuver a giant, super intelligent alien, while simultaneously she knocks and shoots super fighter jets out of the air???? And a swarm of 300,000 fighters can't take down 2 of their own?? Why are none of the fighters actually protecting her, they are just aimlessly flying in circles and completely ignoring the fact, 2 fighters are shooting hundreds of lasers at their queen, at their reason to exist, the one being the perpetuates their species..

I really wanted to like this movie. I like the idea they were going for in exploring more of the aliens origins and introducing other aliens, but the fucking blew it.

You would think a sentient being like a harvester queen would have other priorities than chasing a school bus.

Getting into her suit was just an epic scene. This movie may not have been that good, but there were some awesome moments. I loved the concept, I love the queen and the futuristic looking cities, and that amazing soundtrack. But the acting and speed of the movie was really rushed.

That school bus sure handles a lot better than the ones I remember riding as a kid. Mine couldn't go faster than 45mph and took 20s to accelerate up to that speed. This one must have had the Fast & Furious crew doing some serious modding work on it.

Why would the Queen be 100 times bigger than the drones? I thought this was going to be an alien movie, but it turned out to be just one of those big giant monster movies.
