Graphically, this whole movie was an experience... and a lesson in how poor script writing can ruin that beauty.

Every single Kaiju/Monster movie: “Hey you know these highly technologically advanced fighter jets we’re flying?” “Yeah what about them” “The kind of plane that travels above the speed of sound and can engage targets from beyond visual range?” “Sure” “Lets fly as humanly close and as low as possible towards the monster and only fire our weapons at point blank range”

This scene was graphically beautiful, but you can't tell me that the queen was sniping jets out of the air no problem but couldn't hit a bus.

I find it hilarious that they could have completely fixed this scene simply by making up some magical mcguffin that had been brought onto the bus that the Queen just could not risk the safety of. Then it would make sense that she can snipe down jets but not even get close to the bus. She wanna get into a good position so she can subdue it gently, and the military is working against that happening to keep the kids safe. But I guess not...

It's unbelievable. You take Independence day, which has classic name recognition, and combine it with the basic plot of XCOM, one of the greatest video game franchises in the last decade, with a nearly infinite quintillion dollar budget, put it under the guidance of the original director and call back a good chunk of the cast from the 1st... you combine all these elements of absolute GREATNESS....and you fuck it up. HOW?!?!!?

The point of the first indepandance day was that it was loosely believable and was scary at times. This was just stupid, ridiculous and had no character.

I watched about half of this. I remember in the first movie thinking alien ship was big enough to have enough gravity to change the tides and cause earthquakes. I could have sworn this movie had a ship LAND large enough to span the a big part of the east coast. I sort of decided it was too much.

Independence Day: Resurgence “Twice as big, twice as dumb!” Movies like this where millions of people die and there’s no empathetic weight to any of the deaths. It’s like a carnival ride of death and destruction. Really weird culture we live in.

I swear, watching this scene, I envision the first bit before the bus chase, where a shield and health bar appear on the screen. Then as Mrs. McPilot says: Unleash all you have, that is when it lets the player take control of the jet and the boss fight begins....this whole entire scene felt like one really, really, reeeeaaallly, fking cheesy as video game sequence.....and its facepalm worthy. Then this whole movie seems to be where all the characters took: SCREAM!: +100% to all character Main Attributes, +100% to Damage, +250% to shield damage

I unscrew the top of my head, remove my brain, put it in a jar, pop some popcorn, pour a tall and tasty beverage and watch this movie. And Battleship. And Starship Troopers. And 2012. And The Rock. And Ghost Rider. And Con Air. And Clash of the Titans. And Face Off. And Cowboys and Aliens. Removing the brain first prevents damage.

I...think they made her too big. You see her foot in the trailer and what I thought to myself was 'oh neat, bio-walkers. A land battle, nice!' But no. She moves way too fast for our gravity and her size. She's so big she can cover distance real quick. No need for a jump-fly move. She'd outrun that bus right quick and then just step on it. Maybe make her aim at her targets more. Also fly out of formation when attacking, she can't aim at all of them. Just hit hover, & strafe from behind. Then! she counters with her tentacles. But I woulda went with a variation the the queen idea. Make it a hive-mind of queens. You gotta fight all at once to win. They have powers when working in unison maybe? There are other elements that needed...not doing & a massive queen the size of a tower was among them. She's out there with half of her armada flying about. She can give a single telepathic command and 500 shots pour out of the vessels continuously every second and the bus is dead, then the Orb is dead. Maybe write it that the queen is playing with the bus, like she's torn between the signal & the miniscule size of the bus. Maybe say that the Orb revealed something new which woulda helped thwart & take down this queen; a taste of what'd happen in the sequel. But...no. No sequel cuz....reasons-a-many. Also can't stand that they shoot her gun, and then one mentions that they should do what they're already doing. Bad edit. "Shoot her gun!" Uhhh her gun is already wrecked.

I will admit, when the Queen got into her armor and she came charging out of the crash I said mentally "Hello beautiful" 😍
