Initially, I just wanted to follow the steps to walk around the sacred lake to get to know the atmosphere. As soon as I approached the steps people started to direct me and start giving instructions on what I should do exactly. So I ended up getting rituals from the priest, and I just went with the process to be respectful to the people and the place. Then it ended up a money trap, which you have to see yourself.

So, there is nothing more to take after sucking the blood of the poor desperate borrower. This happens in all parts of the world whereby this particular community---(your community) is in existence. There was no scam, you clearly have no idea about how Brahmins earn a living, they were only asking you and even telling you that feeding more families will be better, you didn't understand the entire concept of Dakshina and Bhiksha, can't blame you, anyone who is not aware of Hinduism will not understand how to earn Punya by giving Bhiksha, next time try to understand the religion before going to a religious place

This kind of people are really a disgrace to the Brahmin community, I doubt his integrity. They are everywhere.In Tamilnadu, where there are thousands of temples, the priests try to extract maximum money in the name of god, they must be exposed and punished. This behaviour gives tourists a very bad impression, this issue should be addressed at the earliest. Davud really handled the situation very calmly, and we, on behalf of our country apologize to him for putting us in such an embarrassment.

I experienced similar scams in Pushkar and other temples too. At every corner, told to pay respect and then demand money. Certainly left with negative impressions. Priest even want to register name and address, etc in register and demand Rupees 10,000 for prayers and also each year will send "prasad" to my overseas address with yearly donation.

I just came back from a trip to Pushkar recently with my family and had such a bad experience and trust me they have put God Brahma to shame here . All these priests are the same here . There are so many foreigners who visit Pushkar for a good time but none of them visit this particular temple because they see through their bullsh#t. People pay their respects at the other temple which is in the market instead or at the Sikh temple. Thank you Mr. Davud for recording and showing this video on You Tube and spreading awareness about these scammers. ✌🏽

Davud, Foreigners usually visit just delhi, mumbai, banglore, popular cities and sometimes North india , Tamilnadu and Kerala. But nobody ever visited most beautiful parts of India which are Ladakh, Himachal, Uttarakhand,Jammu Kashmir j specially North eastern India ( arunachal, sikkim, nagaland, assam and many more) U should really visit these places... Yes, we were scammed in Pushkar at the lake temple, too. The 'priest' person demanded thousands of rupees and would not let us leave until we paid. Very upsetting for two older travelers, very intimidating. It felt impossible to get out of, so we paid up and got out as quick as we could. Glad you are highlighting this for others. Lots of scams in Pushkar in general. I ended up cutting my trip super short after getting an overload of people seeing me as a walking purse although I don't even have money. My lake story was similar to the one in the video to begin with, only after I insisted to give as much as I thought, the guy chased me out yelling "thief, thief, get out of here and never come back, thief, thief". Fortunately no one really paid attention to his frantic yelling and I managed to get out and mix with the crowd. But there are so many other scammers: little gypsy kids who speak fluent English and tell you ahead of time they don't want money while it's all they want; a cobra lady who asked to talk with me, again promising no money is involved but then of course trying to get out of me the most she could; and there are the hena ladies who start painting your hand out of nowhere and expect to be paid, and there are street musicians who just start a performance and demand pay. I still love India and would go back. Don't let this discourage you but it's worth knowing the truth and working on some kind of apathy while walking its streets. Thumbs up for staying calm and holding your ground. Good video.

Hello. I watched this video with keen interest having visited Pushkar on several occassions. These so-called Brahmins who target tourists in particular, but also unsuspecting Indian visitors, make a living from this sophisticated scam. The aim in particular is to psychologically assault the target and this is achieved through several men working as an integrated team. I have personally observed large sums of money being handed over. The lake in Pushkar is a very religious venue for Hindu devotees and it's a real shame that such men, masquerading as religious Brahmins, should be allowed by the local authorities to practice their near criminal activities. In releasing this informed video you have done a real service to those future visitors who should now in turn be warned. Finally, you managed the situation very well. Parting with only Rs 200 was a blessing in disguise .... 🙏.

@@enockowl681 Yes, it is safe. People are just angry at local politicians and you will see people protesting in some places, mostly Colombo areas. Most have been peaceful protests, except for one incident in a village called Rambukkana where a protestor was killed by cops. As a foreign tourist, you wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Tilak or kalave k , ek mantra jo baccha bhi bol sakta hai k 500 rs , ek din ki mazduri he ye kuch states ki , 20 rs se jyada dena bekar hai, inhone dhanda bana rakha he apni jati k naam se, dekha kese jhoot bol Raha tha k Brahmans ko nokri nahi milti, ye pesa donation mein jayega 😂😂🤣🤣

I am of Indian origin and visit India often, most of the time, people give to visitors and not take. However, I have experienced similar things mostly from "religous holy men" . They use every trick under the sun! Just make sure you have a good local person who can deal with these people. This tactic in the west is called boiler room sales, they are the wolf of wall street!

Hey in the temple only pay (donate) 11 rs., 51 rs.or 101 rs only. Don't give too much money because everybody is taking their salary. No bhramin beg money like this be strict on ur rules. It's ur choice whatever u want to give u can.

Real sickening to see these kinda scammers. No wonder many ppl hesitate to go to such places. Though we presume holy places have ppl of virtues & good morals, but devils do hang around !!! Saw such encounters you had in Varanasi too. Anyway, be cautious, careful & stay safe brother........maybe next time, you should tell them your a "communist philosophy" & prohibits you from such nuisance 😝😝😂😂😂

We got trapped by this scam when we went to Pushka. We got escorted there by these people and they wouldn't leave us alone despite trying to go elsewhere. they then separated my wife and I and then when i didn't want to recite the words they got really aggressive and acted offended. Then as we went through they demanded money saying we had to give 1000- 5000R . Then the other guy who had gone off with my wife came charging over as i had all the cash and when i said i wouldn't give they surrounded us, getting really aggressive with us and so we ended up giving 200R . We left and within minutes got hit by other scammers.
