Considering the growing anti-India movement (and boycotting of Indian goods) in Bangladesh, India should not be too dependent on Bangladesh. Situation can worsen with the change in incumbency in Bangladesh Government. India should look for alternatives bypassing Bangladesh, like the Kaladan project.

The whole Chittagong hill including Chittagong port should have been part of India because it was part of Tripura Kingdom. When Tripura merged with India, India government didn't include that region that's why it went to Bangladesh now.

It is only one lane each way, so it is doubtful if it is going to be a major goods transport channel. There will be huge, hours and many kilometers long backups, what with paperwork and customs clearances on both sides to prevent movement of banned goods etc. Impact will have to be seen to be believed, and one should not got all excited about it right now. Wait and see.

So, observing on so many incident in this sub continent , India denied the US. If Indira Gandhi had some intension to capture Rongpur area then the corridor would be vanished. But she did not do it , even she did not see , the necessity of India.

More than a million Indian working in Bangladesh, most of them are working illegally. Now this no will go up.
