In this video I take you on a tour of the most expensive luxury property land bought recently by stockbroker/businessman, Radhakishan Damani. The 1.5 acre land has a total built up area of 60,000 sq ft and is located in the richest neighborhood of Mumbai, Malabar Hill. This sea facing villa was up for sale since a couple of years and now has finally been bought by the billionaire owner of the super market chain, D Mart. I also give you an insight into the history of a man who was once even referred to as the Warren Buffet of India! A title which has now been given to one of his best friends in the trading circuit, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. After the fall of Harshad Mehta in 1992, investors like Radhakishan Damani and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala earned sky rocketing profits. Almost every stock/share which they later on invested their money in, turned out to be some of the best multibagger stocks. Stocks like VST Industries, HDFC Bank, Sundaram Finance, Crisil, 3M, Uniply, Gilette, ITC, India Cements & Andhra Paper enabled them to build their portfolio and ultimately made them billionaires. Radhakishan Damani is indeed the Big Bull of the stock market presently. Malabar Hill looks like a skum. I never liked it even when I lived in Bombay. I am not rich, not even a micro fraction of what these people have but i have enormous quality of life in Miami where i live and Goa where i visit.

Good for you bro, yeah I do agree that the quality of life is far superior over there but some of us here just have to make the best of whatever is available and in addition to that Mumbai is the hub of economic activity which cannot be replicated elsewhere in India as it has been this way for over 2-3 centuries. This results in the paucity of space because when the supply is less and demand is more, automatically the prices go high. So basically even though it may not look like one of those extremely upmarket posh localities of Beverly Hills or Miami, Malabar Hill has a rich and varied history right from the time of the Portuguese and the British and considering Mumbai's future expansion and development plans, these areas will boost up in the real estate market even further, with property prices even higher than that in the US. Anyways every city has its positive and negative points, Mumbai is an emotion for me, just like Goa is for you. I think we should appreciate all the cities of India no matter how they are, we are all part of an optimisation problem called life.

Trust me the amazing history that this place has and the sea right next to it takes it to completely different level, making it one of the most expensive real estate locations in the world. The average price of a flat here is 30 Crore Rs minimum. People like Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, industrialists like Ruia and Godrej stay here for a reason since decades and it's got nothing to deal with looking posh. It's got its own charm which has stayed that way since more than 100 years.

Malabar hills is not Mumbai's posh locality. If you compare Mumbai's posh area like hiranandani gardens, varali sea face, lower parel or Palava city, race course etc. In front these posh area Delhi's posh area is nothing. P.S: malabar hills is expensive because of location history, locality and status because ambani, piramal, birla, singhaniya, punawala, etc live here. But not necessarily expensive means posh always.

Mumbai is very very overrated city. I don't see any difference between this particular area in Mumbai and prime area of any other cities like Jaipur, Indore, Kanpur and so many others.

Mumbai is a fabulous city, actually what I have found is that people who cannot afford to buy properties here, criticize it. Also people who do not understand real estate, history, financial power/demographic of population, security, sea view, etc will try to glorify other cities over it. For example, Delhi doesn't have a sea view, also it's a less secure place for women and children at night. Top industrialists, stock brokers and richest people in the World live in Mumbai. From Rakesh Jhunjhunwala to Radhakishan Damani, Mukesh Ambani, Singhanias, Ruias, Birlas and offcourse the Tatas. The Coastal Road projects, Metro, Trans Harbour Link, upcoming airports, RoRo Projects have rocketed it's future potential more than any other city in India! There are so many beach destinations in Mumbai and also 20 minutes away from it like Alibaug. There are so many hill stations as well, there's even a huge national park in the centre of the city! Apart from that the climate is much more balanced throughout the year, unlike some places in India which face extreme summers and extreme winters. That's the truth.

North India in general has many spacious and modern looking Bungalows and rich areas which you don't find in Mumbai

When a city has excess space available, anything is possible on the horizontal space, cosmetic changes, etc. In North India, there is excess place available and lesser buyers. The supply is more that the demand. With the evolution of time people will prefer living in high rises and not bungalows and Mumbai is doing exactly that! In another 10-15 years, it will be completely transformed to look like a mega city. It already does in some parts. Rich looking bungalows or family owned villas are a thing of the past and outdated, the powerful cities of the world are all about high rises and Mumbai is on its way to make the best in the world.

@@SwapyBond No, I have lived in New York and New York has both High rise living and Mansions/Bungalow living in the outskirts, so do most other cities in this world, its not outdated at all. Also Actually if you look at Google map, Mumbai is not an Island with limited space as many people claim East of Mumbai there are still so many empty areas that could be developed to have more Suburban areas with detached houses and Bungalows , but I have no idea why the local government has decided to just keep filling Mumbai, its so crowded with narrow living spaces, even most apartments are so tiny. Trust me it is not ideal place, this is also caused so much garbage in the city which goes no where.
