Just keep working on our economy and the military is enough to tackle this weak alliance. Maldives in good conscience won't want a war coming to its tiny islands. China and turkey may use this as a launch pad for their benefits but when india counters people of Maldives will be ones to pay, the same is applicable for Bangladesh as both are in our backyard. And not all in Maldives and Bangladesh are foolish enough to go behind religion and money by sacrificing their peace and prosperity.

In a jet engine two parameters determine the performance: total thrust and thrust to weight ratio. It’s not just about getting 91KN. Its about getting 91 KN at a thrust to weight ratio of 9+. Modern engines like F135-PW-100 and AL-51F reach a ratio of 11.5 with afterburner with thrust of 190KN/150KN. The point is that the specs are nuanced and thrust alone is not the final arbiter of suitability.
@lordzroger951
@lordzroger951 Ай бұрын
pushing the thrust is easy but making it efficiency is the difficult part that require multiple trial and error but the fund is like peanut and people working on that lack work discipline. decision is taken by too many individual thus some negative and positive. so let only a few to run the program would help.
@Aerrow62
@Aerrow62 Ай бұрын
@@Jefe-Grande You have missed the point completely which I stated clearly. I am not comparing the fighter jets or even the engines themselves. I am stating that you can't just use a single spec of total thrust (that too afterburner thrust) as the sole criteria to select an engine. Thrust to weight ratio is as critcal as the total thrust because a heavier engine with larger thrust will perform worse than a lighter engine that has higher thrust. In addition, service life and maintenance requirements, self-diagnostics and unit costs are all important considerations. So the issue is you misunderstood the moot point and went after comparing engines rather than how the parameters scale up and interplay. I specifically said "The point is that the specs are nuanced and thrust alone is not the final arbiter of suitability". How did you miss that? The Kavery had sufficient thrust since 2015-2016. But it was too heavy. Thats why it was rejected. It even had better service life and lower maintenance than the Russian engines IAF is used to.
@Aerrow62
@Aerrow62 Ай бұрын
@@Jefe-Grande As far a project management and funding goes; the MoD as well as air-force have much of the blame. Both of them have been moving the goal posts and changing specs and not funding the program in earnest or committing to procuring numbers upon hitting milestones. The DRDO has far exceeded the original specification. The funding as well as unrealistic development expectations are prime reasons for the delays. No nation has gone from zero aviation industry to jet engine design and production within 15 years. They wanted it done in 5. Then reality struck them after 10 years. The problem is seen in both the Tejas project as well as the engine programe. The Indian defense establishment is notorious to come up with procurement specifications which allow only a single vendor's single model to pass the screening. They have often been taken to court over this and single vendor procurements end up with investigations. they have a fetish for imported brands (including public subsidized liquor) and its mostly the government (parliament) shoving indigenous products down the military's throat. No nation's military has ever become a major global power by importing everything that is critical for war fighting. Even now, GTRE has no buyers or a target project. They are just developing it for the sake of the technology. They have not been given a specific target. The Tejas program is firm on F-404 / F-414. The AMCA is already designed for F-414 uprated to 125KN. Where does it leave the GTRE engine? Just the drone project and the HLFT light trainer / fighter. A 91KN afterburning engine is mostly an overkill for an attack drone but perfect for an attack drone without the afterburner section. I don't think they are developing the engine for any actual aircraft.
@Aerrow62
@Aerrow62 Ай бұрын
@@Jefe-Grande There is an issue with that. You can have a purely R&D organization when your entire country is industrialized and the public in general has really high skill levels. That is not the case with us. The Tejas program created a complete industrial ecosystem that is being leveraged for AMCA and now the same is helping bring in Airbus and Boeing sub assembly work. When Indian industries have no interest in R&D, the Government has to step up it's game to make up for the lack of public capacity as well. There is no choice in that regard. While you are correct that the PSU's are based on the Soviet planned economy system, they have become essential production centers with no present alternatives. I still don't think GTRE project is futile. What do you think happens when you are sanctioned and have no spares for the engines? We are not getting 100% of the tech. In fact, the 404's are being imported in its entirety. Lacking domestic alternative is unacceptable. The knowledge base of complete end to end design, metallurgy and manufacturing of jet engines is only known to GTRE personnel. No one else in the entire nation comes anywhere remotely close to that. So it's essential to complete the work and build skill set and the industrial ecosystem.

Important part of Defence preparedness is allocation of adequate funds in the defence of the nation. With soaring GST collections , don't see any logic in not increasing the defence budget to 125+ US Billion $ from current 84 Billion $ as Indian military requires lot of hardware like more advanced Fighter Aircrafts, more submarines , more drones , UAVs, Mine sweepers ,Missiles , more funds in R&D and frankly with so many enemies in neighbourhood , there remains no option other than increase in defence budgets to reasonable levels as defence spending is very less as a percentage of our GDP and can easily go above 3% which is logical due to such grave threats the nation is currently facing .

This means they fire 100s of rounds and still no significant casualty. So, what is the use of expensive artillery? Even if 10 shells are for 1 soldier, war should have ended in 100 days. But war continued...this means shells are not efficient at all, and these people are wasting their ammo. Waiting for a reply.
