We love and respect our national poet DR Allama Muhammad Iqbal( RA).

Just a reply to give you clear Understanding of this Poem, This Poem is actually about Contemporary Muslims complaining about their downfall and Problems and asking Allah to help them to get out of these crises, as they devote their lives, their families, their assets in the name of Allah. In Jawab e Shikwa Allah asks their servants to introspect themselves. All those things Muslims said in Shikwa were the traits of their ForeFathers, The contemporary Muslims are divided in Sects, Castes fighting each other and shedding blood of their brothers for personal gains rather than for the sake of Allah. Allah tells them that when Muslims used to rule the world, They were united. Their all actions were to please Allah. Examples are Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and his companions. and Muslims Like Ertugrul and Many other devoted Muslims who did Jihad with their Nafs and then with those who were barbaric. So Allah Sums up all this with those two lines in the end to let muslims know the Key to the solutions of their Problems, Ki Muhammad se Wafa tune to Hum tere hain, Yeh Jahan Cheez hai kya Loh o Qalam tere hain

The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W.S didn't write this poem but one of his great follower Allama Iqbal R.A wrote this may Allah please his soul in rest .

I just want to clarify Something's very quickly; This poetry has not written for Ertugrul or any other character, it has been written for all the muslims across the globe. Dr. Muhammad Allama Iqbal has written this poetry (first Shikwa and then Jawab e Shikwa) way before Pakistan-India partition, and the video which you've watched has been created recently through editing by a Pakistani guy, adding different clips from Ertugrul, Osman, Malik Shah, Sencer drama series and merging them all with this poetry by doing a fantastic job! This poetry is simply addressing to all muslims about their wrong doings, as for not following prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companion's true path, showing the weaknesses in their Imaan which is causing them humiliation all over the world. Shikwa is in the form of a complaint to Allah for having let down Muslims and Jawab-e-Shikwa is in the form of Allah's reply. The central idea of the poetry Shikwa is that Allah is not fulfilling his promise to protect followers of Islam from loss and a decline in fortune. In Jawab-e Shikwa Allah answers directly that he has not broken his promise; instead it is the Muslims, who have turned away from the Path.. Lemme explain it for you guys. So in "jawab-e-Shikwa" Allama Iqbal was replying to his own poetry in a way so that muslims can understand what he was trying to explain in "Shikwa". So what he meant was that you(muslims) try to complain to Allah about your current situation and complain Allah about what your ancestors did, but you don`t compare your present self to your ancestors, you explain about your ancestors and about their achievement but don`t tell that what are your achievements and are you like your ancestors even a bit, this was the whole plot of his poetry.

Brother, to understand the poetry of a man in the caliber of Allama Iqbal (ra), and to be able to absorb what this great man is trying to convey, you don't just need to understand Urdu and of course Farsi languages, you also need to be very delicate in your touch, extremely wise and intellectually smart.

To understand Allama Iqbal's poetry you need to learn Urdu as well as Persian. Make correction this poem has nothing to do with ertagul or Osman. It's about general situation of Muslim in current situation and the main emphasis is on stop recalling past and what your ancestors had done or achieved. Remember this poem was written at a time when Muslims of subcontinent were lacking in modern education and just reading subjects which were of not much use in real life. They were busy in just recalling the glorified past. Allama sahib asked in this poem to become a practical and start getting education and stop day dreaming and don't relay just on the prayer from Allah SWT to destroy non Muslims. Prayers will be fulfilled when you start doing something.
