Күн бұрын

In this Josh Talks, Devdutt Pattanaik delves into a philosophical perspective centered around the pursuit of complete happiness through knowledge of Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha. The narrative weaves together elements of traditional wisdom, emphasizing the need for Lakshmi's wisdom for wealth, Durga's strength, and knowledge of Sanskrit. Devdutt Pattanaik asserts that the majority of people are unaware of the continuous knowledge available in India and that science alone doesn't provide complete understanding. He suggests that profound insights can be found in the Vedas and Puranas, emphasizing the holistic approach to knowledge encompassed in these ancient texts.
Devdutt Pattanaik introduces himself as known for his work based on foundational texts such as Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, and Vedas. He recalls being extensively covered by the media and addresses the common question people used to ask him about his interest in these epics. Contrary to conventional advice about pursuing conventional careers for wealth, Pattanaik found a different kind of knowledge in these scriptures that eventually helped him establish his business.
The essence of Pattanaik's message lies in the belief that success and wealth can be attained through an understanding of the knowledge embedded in ancient Indian scriptures. He introduces an app for personal development, particularly in English communication and personality development, claiming to have assisted over 130,000 individuals. The app focuses on spoken English, providing a platform for users to engage in conversations with other students, receive feedback, and earn points. Top scorers are rewarded with awards, creating an engaging and competitive learning environment.
Devdutt Pattanaik encourages the audience to start their favorite courses on the app, highlighting the collaboration with India's top experts, including Shailaja. Throughout the talk, Pattanaik emphasizes the importance of combining traditional wisdom with modern learning methods for a well-rounded and successful life.
Transitioning to a different context, the narrative shifts to a personal reflection by Devdutt Pattanaik on his discussions with his mother about the significance of epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas. He addresses common perceptions that view these epics as mere history or stories about temples with magical powers. However, Pattanaik argues that the knowledge within these scriptures goes beyond conventional understanding and can lead to success in various aspects of life.
He shares his experience of studying medicine while simultaneously selling pharmaceuticals and finding solutions to real-world problems in the insights provided by ancient texts. The central theme revolves around the idea that the knowledge within Ramayana, Mahabharata, Vedas, and Puranas holds the key to success, a knowledge that is often overlooked in mainstream education.
In conclusion, Devdutt Pattanaik's Josh Talk weaves a narrative that bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary challenges, emphasizing the profound insights available in India's traditional scriptures. The promotion of an app for English communication and personality development adds a practical dimension to the talk, aligning traditional knowledge with modern learning methods. The overarching message is one of holistic growth, combining the best of both worlds for a successful and fulfilling life.

Everyone here is only arguing that it is our history and not mythology though nobody has any concrete proof. But even bigger problem is that doesn't matter if it's history or mythology, what matters is what we learn from it - and that's the real issue - no one wants to learn here, only trying to prove their point

you are thinking that he is our friend but he is our enemy , you know in a one article he was himself saying that Wendy doniger is his like his mentor I learn from him, and for knowledge I tell you that Wendy donigar is a famous anit-hindu journalist and his mission of life is to refuse the Indian scriptures and something he writes in his my gita book that is the meaning of astika is who accepts sex , violence , money , that is astika and the real meaning of astika is a person who believes in God or person who surrender to the lotus feet of lord , but if you take knowledge from him according to him the prostitute are astika and person who working in porn club they are astika , and a person don't do this he Nastika , and in the bhagavad gita krsna himself saying that these are illusion and my devotees never fall in Maya or illusion and if the real bhagavad gita as it is by srila a.c bhaktivedanta prabhupada then you can take the knowledge of shri krsna as it is so that's why srila prabhupada go to America by taking so much pain he got 2 heart attacks but lord krsna protect him and from new York city he started his preaching and preaching the hippies and make them happy , before becoming devotee they were highly drug addicted , Illicit sex , meat eaters , and srila prabhupada preach them the message of krsna association of such pure devotee they saw the joy and happiness of srila prabhupada while chanting holy name of lord krsna and doing kirtan when they saw feel the higher taste they forgot the lower taste , according to bhagavad gita to become human you have to follow four rules no Illicit sex , no intoxication , no meat eating , No gambling and to become a devotee you have to surrender yourself to the lotus feet of Supreme lord shri krsna , so he is misleading us he is changing the real meaning of bhagavad gita.

They are not good. Wrong grammar, wrong etymology, forced narratives, misquoting and distorting the content- Devdutt Pattanaik is a liar and he's dangerous. I'm sorry if this came out too harsh but it is true. Just take a few minutes to check his work and compare with original texts. He is an outright liar. There's a difference between having a different perspective and lying. Saying 2+2=6 is not perspective, it is a false claim. Period. Please make some efforts and read original texts instead of fancy lies. Thank you for reading. Namaste.

you are thinking that he is our friend but he is our enemy , you know in a one article he was himself saying that Wendy doniger is his like his mentor I learn from him, and for knowledge I tell you that Wendy donigar is a famous anit-hindu journalist and his mission of life is to refuse the Indian scriptures and something he writes in his my gita book that is the meaning of astika is who accepts sex , violence , money , that is astika and the real meaning of astika is a person who believes in God or person who surrender to the lotus feet of lord , but if you take knowledge from him according to him the prostitute are astika and person who working in porn club they are astika , and a person don't do this he Nastika , and in the bhagavad gita krsna himself saying that these are illusion and my devotees never fall in Maya or illusion and if the real bhagavad gita as it is by srila a.c bhaktivedanta prabhupada then you can take the knowledge of shri krsna as it is so that's why srila prabhupada go to America by taking so much pain he got 2 heart attacks but lord krsna protect him and from new York city he started his preaching and preaching the hippies and make them happy , before becoming devotee they were highly drug addicted , Illicit sex , meat eaters , and srila prabhupada preach them the message of krsna association of such pure devotee they saw the joy and happiness of srila prabhupada while chanting holy name of lord krsna and doing kirtan when they saw feel the higher taste they forgot the lower taste , according to bhagavad gita to become human you have to follow four rules no Illicit sex , no intoxication , no meat eating , No gambling and to become a devotee you have to surrender yourself to the lotus feet of Supreme lord shri krsna , so he is misleading us he is changing the real meaning of bhagavad gita

Oh wow! Never knew knowing sanskrit is the sole affidavit, the possession of which allows you to learn & transmit the knowledge of the Vedas, Upanishads and Purans! Even Tulsidas & Dyaneshwara didn't use wrote there most celebrated work pieces in the grand old language. How can a religion thus be confined within a particular language? To the follower of a religion which never positions one singular truth at the supremacy, rather celebrates all soughts of the truth existing in the universe, beholding such a limited mindset brings no grace........

Religion itself is a ambiguous word, Which interpretation you like you can follow, but don't say there is something "real" that is beyond human interpretation.

You have no idea at all of what Hinduism is...Hinduism is not a religion...it is a philosophical way of life. It is not something that you read in the Gita or the Puranas or the Vedas and vomit in a theology class and try to demote people like Devdutt, but see it everyday and experience it everyday. Moreover, the early and later Vedic saints may have composed the Vedic texts in Sanskrit but the Composite Culture saints have preached in common people's languages. You have been dwelling in the "Ardhya Satya". Adi Shankaracharya has said that "Alpa Buddhi Maha Bhayankar". Thereby attain knowledge first and then comment like this. And please, if you think that by knowledge I mean knowledge in books and translations of the Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads. That is ofcourse there, but you must apply "foresight or Divya Drishti" and see through the texts to understand the underlying importance. Sanskrit is not important to know "Atmajnan"! When I myself read the Upanishads and two Vedas, I read English versions and Hindi versions. And FYI: Devdutt knows more Sanskrit than you.

As a fan I was taken aback when I saw it. I have seen his conferences too. Namaste.
