Berger is so good! I don’t understand why coach doesn’t let her play as much.

She is starting to figuring out the physicality of the players that are guarding her. Learning to use it against them, and even give it back at them. Instead of letting it get in her own head and start forcing things, she was laughing things off and smiling. She played freer today. The team missed way too many close shots at the rim today and too many dropped passes . They all need to play better defense and identify shooters.

The Fever winning the last two quarters is huge. For, NY had its 1st team in all the way. The Fever went head to head and beat NY in those two quarters.

Clark is starting to feel more comfortable and realizing she is better than most of the players on the floor ( and all the players on Fever). She is starting to feel her mojo, it’s coming.

@@darrenswartzendruber8343 Well-stated. Clark's vision is to be a top pro, & she is so excited "laughing things off and smiliing," seeing the pathway ahead, knowing she is doing the right things. This has earmarks of a huge year. The other players have talent that will build as Caitlin builds.

Minus 8 turnovers and bad defense. The team as a whole did better still not good enough. Incremental steps in the right direction

She needs to change the negative body language her teammates and the other team see it, once they learn each other's spots the ball will arrive on time and in stride. They will also become more in sync. Better game today still a lot of improvement has to made. The team put up a good fight but between turnovers and the defensive side the game was handed to New York once again. The turnovers and the missed layups were the difference in the game.

Definitely. Most people prefer watching her play. They said how disappointment the coach benched her and she didn't give her more 40 mins to play.

8 turnovers is not efficient that washes away the better shooting percentage. Defense is also a problem with her she's not very active on the other side of the ball. Even if she score 30 giving up 8 possessions to the other team and showing no resistance on defense give the other team a green light to victory.

True this game was way better in general mostly just keeping the ball in Clark’s hands. NCAA all time leading scorer/assist for a reason.

Celeste is energetic, and that is something the team definitely needs from time time. She also can hit the 3’s. How many times did CC pass to someone who missed the open 3? Coach is an idiot for playing her favorites, Wheeler & Wallace, both of whom don’t look CC’s way when she’s open. I think Berger & Taylor would fit into CC’s style of play so much better.

I agree on Erica but not Kelsey…Kelsey needs to play and had a good game today…she has been injured so hasn’t been playing and wasn’t able to train and build chemistry during training camp so it’s going to take time but she can shoot and needs to be in the starting line up. I would say though the Temi should be starting over Boston and that Celeste should be in place over Katie Lou or even Wallace right now because she is a better defender and can shoot the 3. Right now these vets are not as consistent with their 3s and are rusty and need more training and conditioning. They all need more conditioning and time to build chemistry.

Boston WAS Great Last Year. Now, not so much at all. These days the Game & Score Improves when Boston and Wheeler are on the Bench

They don’t need a word. They need a game plan. It was good to see Caitlin was point guard. That should ALWAYS be the case. but some of those people were taking awful shots. They weren’t even shots-they just threw the ball at the backboard. It was awful.

This roster is 8 returning players from last year, which was her first year, and has absolutely no offensive system that seems to operate well at all. We noticed all this in preseason. This team knew it was drafting Caitlin Clark when they had gotten the number 1 pick and they never bothered to even film study the college systems that she ran to come up with plays for her set of talents... Instead, she ran whatever nonsense that we saw on preseason and beyond as their "offense" which is basically sloppy unorganized pickup game ball. She's been with the Fever before, which is how she was able to get the job. Wallace and Wheeler were with her before too, so there's no excuse why they're usually worse with those two playing anyway--she's had the most time with those players than anybody on the roster. And looking at what they've accomplished suggests that this team didn't even take training camp seriously since they look sluggish, slow, lazy, and have no coordination to run any plays together. Defense doesn't even seem like they have a system. I don't know how the coach isn't blamed when it's pretty obvious this coach is trying to destroy her roster on purpose for some reason. They also should be winning or at least competitive with 4 all-stars on their roster, a number 1 pick, a number 2 pick, DPOY of some league, a champion from London, supposed to be great defenders in Lexie Hull and Celeste Taylor, and so on. Yet, their best player has been a rookie coming out of a national championship like 1 month ago. You've got two USA Olympics players, and your best so far is a rookie. She should have been fired after the first preseason game, to be honest.
