Saw this when it came out and to those who say it is inferior to the others, I ask you to reconsider the story of Indy. It's not him in his prime, it's during the 60's where the age of historical intrigue is a remnant and technology is the future. The whole arc of the franchise is brilliantly done. We watch Indy evolve as time moves past him. Mangold did a brilliant job. I still prefer KOTCS due to the more classic action sequences, but Indy still puts on a clinic in this movie, and it's exactly the way an Indy movie should be; pure fun and adventure. The scene with Indy speaking to Archimedes was genuinely a tear-jerking moment. It felt like the franchise had come full circle and it really gave an element of completion to his character, not to mention the first 30 minutes was awesome. As an Indy fan my whole life, I couldn't have asked for a better ending.

LMAO!! This movie is a steaming pile. Stop trying to make excuses for this train wreck that nobody asked for. The franchise ended with Last Crusade as far as i'm concerned. This movie is on par with Crystal Skull, if not worse....

@@currymitch5119 I saw the day before it came out, June 29th, thank you very much. Detail about what? LOL. The film was too long, too much CGI, bad ending, horrible supporting actress and the intro was the only decent part with that halfass de-aging job. Happy now? I dont need to go into detail for anybody. Accept people don't share your optimism over subpar garbage, again ruined by Disney....

I adore the shot of the mule at 3:56. It's a nod, an homage to the shot of the mule at the begining of Raiders, when Indy scapes of the hovitos

Later in the scene (not shown in the video) there's a cat running in one of the alleys. I feel that too, can be a possible callback to the scene is Cairo.

I like how the scene feels like a combination of the Mine Cart chase from “Temple of Doom” and the Dessert Chase from “Raiders”. Least that’s how I see it. Definitely is a better choreographed scene than the Jungle Chase from Crystal Skull. Feels much more practical.

@@dboygamer8184I've seen movies with far worse editing with way too many cutting than this. This is not bad editing, though I understand where you're coming from. Quantum of Solace is a good example. Batman Begins is one of my favorite films, but the fight scenes cut most shots way too much before you can get an idea of what's happening. What about the Bourne films as well?

@@dboygamer8184 But It is like when Mola Ram is just standing, and the next shot he is directly laying on the floor before escaping through a secret door on the floor in TOD. It seems this tuk tuk chase has been thoroughly planned with storyboards and cinematics, but It resulted too long (indeed It is still too long) and they tried to shorten it a little bit more, that's why the editing looked jumpy and choppy.

One of my favorite practical stunts of all time is when Indy jumps to the other car to avoid death, it was so close and quick, one of the few moments of physical Indy in this movie that I like.

@@lightlyfriedfishfillets829 I just don’t understand how you could be let down. Surely you understood it would be an Indy in his twilight? I’m not saying it was perfect, and at first I thought Helena’s character was unnecessary, but upon further examination she’s quite important regarding the overall story. I implore you to watch it with a relaxed, fresh eye and try to tell me it’s not a perfect end for the character. I’m only 20 but my dad introduced me to Indy at a young age, and not even nostalgia is enough to blind me from what is obviously a great end to a brilliant character. Through and through, this is one of the best movie franchises going, in terms of overall quality. Even Temple of Doom is vastly under-appreciated, and I could go into detail as why.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to the backlash regarding Crystal Skull, which wasn't even that bad. I enjoyed it. I wouldn't be surprised if Spielberg and Lucas had plans to continue the series in some way, but may have decided against it after Crystal Skull's release.

I love dial of destiny, cause it's different from the other films cause indy is 70 and not as young as he was so the movie treats him like he's old which I like the focus on his age in the movie

I loved the indiana Jones series of films.... except this one. The female main lead is terrible in this, she comes over as a wooden character and imo is reason movie is so bad. She is ok in some made for tv series in the UK, but totally out her depth in this i feel.
