In march 2023, Supreme Court (SC) ruled that the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commissioners shall be made by the President on the advice of a Committee consisting of the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition of the Lok Sabha and Chief Justice of India (CJI). In december 2023, The government bought in an ordinance to reverse this judgement replacing the CJI with a union minister. Ultimately the majority vote goes to the governement. If the PM wants election commission to be an independent body, why does he want to control the appointment of the top posts of the election commission. What is this desperation that he had to bring in an ordinance. CJI doesn't belong to any party.

Global leftist mentality of the SC, interference from foreign nations. Indian judiciary is just a copy paste of British judiciary. Find out how powerful nations (I won't name any) wants a regime change in India since our current govt is not listening to the dictations given by them. Find out how big advocates make the judges do things their way. How vunerable judges and their children are who go to study or just go for an exchange in big famous universities abroad. As for judiciary as a whole - Here is an example -- Grandfather was Supreme Court Judge, Father is also SC judge, Uncle is also High Court Judge, Mother is also a SC Judge and he will also become a Supreme Court Judge. Now how many families have made, "being a Judge a family occupation". Considering all the High Courts in India, a few hundred families, in a country with the population of 1.4 billion. Do you want a Supreme Court Judge, whose talent is being born in that family, who gave an exam to his father and his interview was also taken by his father or uncle or any of his father's friend. Can such a Supreme Court Judge overturn a decision taken by a Public Representative ( such as Prime Minister) who is elected by 1.4 Billion people. Apart from this Modiji had already said in the interview with Sushant Sinha "woh 4 June waali baat".
