We can’t forget the 1 1/2 million Indians who volunteered during the Second World War. Or those who fought during the first. If you go to Brighton in the hills above it is the Chattri memorial to the Indian soldiers who died in World War One the memorial is placed ware the Hindu and Sikh dead from the Indian hospital where cremated.

The Festival of Remembrance takes place every year. It's hosted by The Royal British Legion and is a commerative event dedicated to all those who have served (and also those who have died serving) from Britain and the Commonwealth across all conflicts. It's held on the saturday before Remembrance Day (the Sunday nearest to 11th November) and comes at the end of the RBL's Poppy Appeal. Tickets are available to the general public

I've always adored this song and with all due respect to the royal family, I long for this to be our national anthem. Viewing this song from the point of view of the armed forces humbles me greatly. The first verse being about how they lay their lives down to protect us, The second being about a peaceful eternity thereafter.

When it comes to Remembrance especially in recent years we have started paying more respect to those that fought from the former Empire and Commonwealth which I do support! I mean our nations haven't had the best shared history but it was Indian Lads dodging Fascist bullets alongside my Great Uncles like so respect is earned there!

One of the only reaction video's i have seen where they study the lyrics, and highlight what they mean. Well done.

This event finishes every year with a silence and a poppy leaf falls from the roof a leaf for everyone who lost their lives in war

Nice review from the UK living in Cincinnati OH, think we should change this to our national anthem. Just watched Tiger 3 only to day learned you have India and Pakistan have 2 different independence days, seriously thought it was the same day. Look forward to future content.

Makes me cringe a little, just, because it’s a little colonialist. 😅❤

It’s a shame you know so little, the first part is about love for your Country and being willing to lay your life on the line to protect it, the second is about the love of your faith and knowing that gentleness and peace is the best way, it was written because of the great number of killed in the First World War, hardly an ode to colonialism, it should be the English National Anthem especially as we don’t have one, but I guess there are not enough English to love the Country anymore.

Snowflake generation lol pathetic. It has absolutely nothing to do with colonialism.
