Garv se bhar dene wala shandar defence program. Former air chief bhadoriya Sahab, veteran difference journalist mister Krishna Sahab, aur Josh Se bhare hue Shiv aur, sal ke ant mein shandar program Ka tohfa, Dhanyabad shiv.

People are confusing b/w LCA MK2 & Tejas MK2 or MWF/MCA (not AMCA), the inflated version of LCA. LCA + today's/future requirement = more weight. Bharat is a sub-continent & not suited to LIGHT jets with limited everything - thrust, payload, lift, fuel, avionics, range. They are ok only for base defence. When technology evolves, totally new or modified airframe is needed, then we say that a gen leap has occured. Engine power somewhat dictates other aspects by T/W ratio. LCA can be upgraded with AESA radar, glass cockpit, IFR, limited sensors & EW, that's it, that's what only 1 weak engine will support, you get LCA MK1A, MK2, MK3, MK4... Now further with Tejas MK2/MWF if evolving technology (w/o stealth) demands weight & more weapons then lift &/or total thrust have to be increased too. Either you increase # of engines like F-18 C/D used 2 F-404 & increase lift by Trapezoidal wing; OR you increase thrust like F-35 uses 1 F-135 engine; OR you increase both thrust & # of engine like F-18 E/F uses 2 F-414 engines; OR you increase lift, thrust & # of engines like Rafale uses added canards & 2 M88 engines. Tejas MK2 is being designed which will be MWF, a MEDIUM weight jet, not LIGHT. The TEDBF design looks relatively more practical & realistic for both Navy & AF bcoz the LCA 4th gen airframe design is inadequate & obsolete.

MK2 has better exportability. It should be offered to the Philippines for maritime operations with Brahmos.

Great discussion with the most inspirational IAF Air Chief Marshal there has been. Shiv, one question you could ask in a future episode would be why the IAF is not looking at an IAF version of the TEDBF? The numbers of TEDBF planned for the Indian Navy could make it quite costly but a significant order from the IAF would not only reduce it's unit cost but also give the IAF a very capable, 4.5++ Rafale class fighter that the IAF controls all requirements for.

India must invest more into R&D for jet engine development. Need domestically produced engines capable of Mach 3 and more. Also, develop unmanned drone technology.... future of warfare = cheaper to produce and also no need to endanger our pilots and also avoids cost of pilot training.

Frankly speaking,we need around 600 new jets to replace all older jets & Build numbers. 70+ Mig29 50+ Mirage 2000 120+ Jaguars which are more than 50 years old 80+ Mig21B aka Flying Coffins If we wait for Tejas MK2,soon Bangladesh & Myanmar may challenge us regionally,with passing time,leave China & Pakistan behind.

I find it foolhardy when people talk about Mk2 and AMCA when even Mk1A is yet to be delivered and receive FOC. It seems the Americans vary of Indian death squads killing Americans, have decided to renegade on delivery of 414 engines. The reality is, that the Tejas program is more or less shelved.

MRFA jo 12 saal pehle execute hona tha.. Or abtak sare jets deliver bhi hojate.. Why so much delay..? And they are still thinking to delay this, ask him a question, would China wait for our delays in such procurements..

Cancelling UPA deal was the most stupid move. Airforce Squadron are down to a dangerous level all fault is of Air force and BJP obsession for making jets in India ....not considering any stop gap measure.

How tejas mk2 is 100% on track if it is taking it's first flight not before 2027 ? It was supposed to take first flight by the end of 2024. One thing that is 100% on track is the performance of drdo, hal and ada to be late as hell on each and every project.

See, if you look at the statement of Former Air Chief ,he is saying that in terms of capability it is comparable to Mirage 2000.which is a 4th generation aircraft,though Tejas MK1 will be having better avionics and weapons systems as compared to Mirage 2000 which France has already stopped production long back.Also ,it is to be seen vis a vis what China has already built ,for example J 20 5th generation stealth aircraft in numbers exceeding more than 200 till date. Though it's fifth generation capability is bit of a question mark ,they will compensate it in terms of numbers. Whereas ,we are still stuck with the MRFA order which is still lingering for long.This is worrisome in the event of a two front war.

We still don't have even one squandron of Mk1A! We don't have a single mk2 proto, its production is beyond 2032. AMCA and TEDBF are castles in mid air. I guess we have to hold our horses with the celebration!

Small victories…. But overall poorly executed projects led to the delays. Why don’t there be public private JV competition for engines, fighter jets etc… why is the IAF stuck with a platform on whose development might not be fully under its control, but rather decided by Babus and HAL?

Indian Tejas fighter jet wing is a failure model , it should have wing like f35 us fighter jets which can easily penetrate the air, it should have vertical take off system, during emergency time in Indian road fighter jets can take off and land easily if it has vertical take off system
