Experience the complete build of my latest, and largest, DIY camper. It's 6X10, sleeps four, has a shower and toilet and a new, experimental way of powering it with Ryobi 40 volt batteries (as well as shore power). Like my other builds, I didn't hold back when using alternative building techniques just to see if I can pull them off. It travels on a Harbor Freight 1720 lb trailer and can be easily unmounted if needed. It's also my first build that's tall enough to stand up in!
MATERIALS LIST BELOW
If you found this video after the release date, we have installed a 3500lb-rated axle and a set of Rainer radials. This helps the build be the safest possible on the road, although we didn't have any issues with the equipment used in the video. We simply upgraded when we could.

I don’t know why you are criticizing him for criticizing himself? Yes it sounds negative when people do this until you become educated as to why. Its not negative behavior its actually creates more reply results through empathy. The more reply’s the better possible solutions. Here is the “science” behind criticizing oneself: “One of the reasons we use self-criticism is to motivate ourselves to do something about the threat to our self-concept. So even though the method is a little warped and clumsy, what Self-Criticism is actually trying to do to keep us safe by motivating us (with pain and discomfort) to take action.” People hate seeing animals or others suffer even watching a You Tube video of some dude building a camper (its actually a trailer, campers go on the back bed of a pickup, idk maybe its dif in WV?) thats the only piece of criticism i can find. Your electrical cant be per code but its not a house with 200 amps AC either. Still people put wayyy to much trust on the cheap teflon coating American engineers specify for the Chinese manufacturers when making that wire. To me if the teflon (insulation) over the wire melts if you apply solder to the wire then its not aerospace or marine code & cheap wire which needs to go through a cheap plastic pipe or it has potential in a short to catch all that pretty wood on fire & that’s catastrophic. Wire also comes in “high temp” the low temp is for GM & Ford whose only concern is to build for the lowest price even if it costs a fortune to repair. You simply end warranty before repairs are expected. And that’s why Ford has the electrical power steering thats cheaper than hydraulics, cheap to install as you are installing it at the FACTORY, but costs😮 $3,000 to replace in a 2008 Escape. Yeah, it is designed with shareholders in mind, NOT CUSTOMERS. So thats the only thing that i questioned. Also, i used to work at a few aerospace companies & know how horrible quality could be when I transferred to work for consumer purchased industries which have low quality expectations. If you are spending $325-million for sayyy a 777 it damn well better be perfect your boss has no problem putting your ass in jail if anyone dies because of your lack of quality. & yes its happened. Not to me. But spend $35,000 on a Chevy & your entire tire+ rim falls off driving 70 down the freeway was factored in that $35,000 price tag & “accident Lawyers” get more than you. Its not gonna make GM build an expensive fix, they knew the wheel had a potential to just come off & thats why you got that $35,000 low low price. It ain’t a Cadillac. So I wasn’t raised in Detroit i cant build cheap crap but i can sure identify it. Build it like your Toyota and please do not staple cheap wire onto wood. Vibration alone will force the staples loose or it can go the other way & cut into the wire. Use plastic zip ties only to bundle & secure wire or cables to an insulated surface with plenty of slack so the wire isnt a tight fit. Any soldering use high temp solder, same as plumbers use also called silver solder or lead free, as it uses silver instead of lead which melts under a match. Silver melts at a higher temp & makes a stronger electrical bond than lead.

I think this was a great build!! The only change I might make is to put the GFCI in an easily accessible place and wire all outlets in a chain. That way, you don’t have to worry about water incursion at any outlet and can easily reset the GFCI once the problem is resolved. You could leave the GFCI behind the fridge and just wire the other outlets together downstream of a single GFCI with the same outcome. I will incorporate some of these great ideas in my build this year or next.

Couldn't agree more with the sentiment of music. There are moments when music can be good, but KZfaq creators often use it too much. The audience doesn't need a constant onslaught of noise. A little exposition on what you're doing, shots that show it and that is all you really need.

I would think a carpenter would object to the use of lap board for bottom wall structure. Those lag bolts aren't very useful, because the wood is the weak point, not eh fastener. Under enough stress, load, or long term shock and wear, the structural failure of the design is the bottom boards splitting, which pine will do.

Thanks a bunch for the audio feedback. It helps me know how to set up the next video. I simply used Gorilla clear construction adhesive for all of the fabric in the camper. The curtains, the bench seat and the rear ceiling. It's the $13 a tube version. Expensive, but rock solid when it sets up. I wish I could take credit for the roofing rubber. That goes to my stepdad. He's a roofer and recommended it.

My mom is a retired fire marshal. It's not just the thieves for the hinges. it's so you can't get trapped inside if something falls in front of your door. :) but i guess that door is thin enough that you could beat it down to get out.

Your comment reminds me of the Sims game, where random fires frequently appear. 😂 Strangely, most people never set their houses or campers on fire over a lifetime. Though everyone should keep a small fire extinguisher handy, and know how to deal with different fires.
