This table is really well designed. Every piece is clearly labeled, kzfaq.infoUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW and the instructions are perfectly displayed, so it's really hard to mess up the assembly. The hardware is likewise clearly labeled. If I had a power driver, assembly time would have been cut in half, but I didn't mind the light workout. My only qualm is that is that the lift top is wobbly in between its open and closed positions, but that's really a minor complaint. For the price, you really can't get much better than this, hence the five-star review. I use it primarily for my wireless mouse and keyboard so that I can use my PC from the couch. Storage is nice. I'm totally happy with this purchase.

If the garage ever doesn't work out for you Matt, I could see a possible career as: 1) an actor, 2) a fireman, 3) in riverdance, or 4) a botanist (amazing tree knowledge) ;)

Good way to blacken bolts (and rust proof) is heat them to about 300deg and quench them in linseed oil

With your and Trev (Trev's Blog) helpful videos, I've managed to improve my DIY welding no end. Being a woodworker myself, I thought I'd share some of my advice; when fixing a table top onto supports, you need to allow for the movement of the wood. It will expand and contract across the grain with humidity and temperature changes. Simple slotted holes in the frame instead of the round ones would allow the wood and the bolts to move. As you have it now, expect the top to check and split. A simple modification, but one that will keep your table top looking good and in one piece.

You know that could be a real money spinner, selling tables and all sorts of stuff in weldable kit form. Buyers would get welding practice, without risking their pride and joy, with something practical to show for their efforts at the end.

@@MrOgre1110 Almost certainly, then they may pay even more for a pre-built one to pass off as their own. lol. But an automated machine like that ought to be put to good use and pay for itself. Kits would be a great way to do that.
