@@TheNuno190 I don't say it in a bad way. I'm just fanboy of GTP/GTE(3) classes and Ollie just happened to be driving in those. I don't have any knowledge whats going on in the sim racing world, neither what the companies are doing. =)

Indycar needs to open the license to everyone. To be in games like iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo, Forza or even in Grid. I don't think a dedicated Indycar game will be good, only if come in a single package with Indy NXN, US 2000 and other Indycar junior series together (also, would be nice with IMSA too).

There never was a need for a seperate Indy Car game - maybe in USA but in europe don't know any guy who is interested in driving Indy Cars. So fully agree with that step

I think it's about time the management got a pay rise and at least 15% of the employees fired, the normal thing to do when your game dev company does dumb crap for so long and doesn't have record profits year after year.

It's worth noting that Motorsport Games owes more $$$ to IndyCar and BTCC than they currently have on hand as of their investor's call last week. IndyCar may have directly forced MSGM into bankruptcy.

i cant see Indycar going fully back to Iracing - they seem hell bent on Stand Alone concept and think they will be able to cash in on success of F1 series. Except Indycar wont be as popular for a start. The best outcome would be at least alow Iracing to run IP rights in respect of naming cars and events Indycar for a start and they can choose whoever for console. Yes . Iracing could do console, but they are fairly full with Nascar now taken over , World of Outlaws etc.

I assume that after the NASCAR game is made by Monster games/iRacing they might make the Indycar game. Monster games could be the console exclusive arm of iRacing and releasing Nascar, Indycar, and World of Outlaws games moving forward.

Well this opened up old wounds. I absolutely loved the indy 500. So much so I was considering taking leave that week to get in as many races as possible. There is no getting Indy 2023 back. Additionally there is no guarantee that its coming back in 2024. Relationships have soured and Indycar might think that the rights are more attractive with an exclusive license. So while MSG may have pushed for it. I get the feeling iRacing isnt getting it back. Glad to see a toxic company like MSG losing its lunch. Sad that my lunch seemed to have been included in that.

If this has shown us anything, it's that exclusivity is not a good thing. Yes Indycar should go back to iRacing but it should not be solely done by them. Let Forza and Gran Turismo have the licence too perhaps? It sounds just like the BTCC deal where they wanted a console game and sure iRacing could probably facilitate that with Monster Games who did World of Outlaws.

I guess the exclusive license thing is down to greed, screwing one company for such high fees that it must be worth more to the license holder than if they granted non-exclusive licenses. However, it would strike me as a better option to grant non-exclusive licenses to whoever wants them, then host e-sports with prizes on the service that provides the best implementation, income for the license holders plus a good reason to drive innovation and quality across the whole simracing world.

One thing to remember is that the Indycar agreement with MSG wasn’t exclusive. It was only exclusive for a standalone indycar game and any esports associated with the series. Iracing could have had the license at the same time to use the cars and tracks but for whatever reason they didn’t. Whether that was costs, Penske, or whatever we will never know- But after iracing sent all those “stop shitting on our tyre model” notices to the indycar drivers it looks like there was a reason Indycar went to MSG or someone else instead. If iracing wants it back, they’re going to have to go to Indycar and pay up.

It was most certainly an exclusive license. Reiza had also developed an IndyCar model but had to make it a fantasy model just before release, due to the exclusive licensing deal with MSG. It had nothing to do with IndyCar drivers complaining about the tyre model, for example: The Australian V8 supercar drivers were also making comments about the tyre model during their sim racing championship in 2020/21, but V8 supercars are still going strong on iRacing.

@@marcellomaio The entire license agreement was available to read online. Literally the first three words of the agreement in the main body are "A non-exclusive"

Licensor and Licensee intend to form an exclusive relationship for development of video games to be the official video games of the INDYCAR SERIES." If it really was a "non-exclusive" agreement as you claim, why did Reiza also feel they needed to change a car they had already built to be a fantasy?

@@marcellomaio Read what it says again. That section is only to do with a standalone Indycar game. Nothing about having the cars in another sim or game because rfactor2 got them in 2021. As for AMS2, that's for them to announce because licensing is a very complex and opaque thing to do. It could have been too much for Reiza to pay, it could have come with too many bits and pieces they had to fulfill but couldn't, could be anything. When rFactor2 licensed the BTCC cars it took them forever to get the Cupra because they were being really funny with the license. Same for Toyota in the new WRC game because they haven't yet allowed the Corolla and Celica in.

I wrote MSG and told them to close up and sell off their agreements to stop screwing the community that makes them possible. They are in debt to another company for $600,000 and don't have the funds to pay it. And I wouldn't expect Lemans Ultimate to release either. Supposed to come out next month and is delayed till February. I'm expecting It to be delayed indefinitely

Well if LMU arrives and is awful (remember their NASCAR game) then I would see the ACO pulling there license as well. Also with Iracing getting LMDH cars and rain soon Iracing would be ideal for a return for WEC. Well we can wish knowing MSG they will cling on to that license until the baylifts show up the door.

I think the issue is "exclusive license". Give licenses to everyone and pick whoever has the best implementation to host your esport event. Exclusive license never helped anyone.

The license should not go to IRacing with it's predatory subscription base model. On top of having to buy individual cars and tracks. It should go to a company that can deliver on a standalone full fledged game.

Sry but what do you actually know really? Saying they not done anything? The game can be ready for 80-90% but they didn’t meet the deadline. This can be an investment of millions of dollars and thousands of ours of programming gone down the drain. This video sounds a lot like iRacing propaganda with you sitting there with that T-shirt bashing a company without any facts about what the actual reality is.
