Some of these workplaces where there is literally no justice for bullying are like “houses of Satan”.

Workplace bullies are sick, jealous people. It doesn’t end in school. They go on to make coworkers lives miserable.,More workplaces are starting to take it more seriously, but more has to be done

When I was being bullied in the sweatshop where I was exploited, I found myself wishing that I could become disabled or go blind so that I could get on disability. I even cussed God every day because he wouldn't answer my prayers for the harassment and bullying to stop.

This is all well and fine, but what good is it if it's done out in the open and nobody says or does anything about it. The company's lack of action is actually condoning this type of behavior.

I never thought of it, but I've come to realize my boss has been bullying me. She's setting me up for failure. She hides information from me and changes the rules without telling me. She has the ear of her boss and she withholds information from him on what she's doing to me.

For so many years companies use to think this type of behaviour was "strong managment" and mobbing was "office/workplace banter". Companies should realise that ignoring the behaviour is not good for business. As any Farmer knows happy hen produce more eggs.

This is 100 % accurate and inclusive as a list for workplace bullying, except for physical abuse which sometimes occurs too. At least here in the States. I am hearing about people being pushed, shoved, slapped, locked in closets, etc. Even having wood thrown towards them and getting hit. I wish they would do something.

Thanks for your comment, Corey. You are right that physical attacks do sadly still occur at work. In this short film, we tried to create awareness of the behaviours many may not associate as bullying in the workplace and focussed on covert bullying, with physical attacks being briefly mentioned at the start as one of the more common overt forms of bullying. On our website, we have many other articles which we hope create awareness and signpost to further help for all types of harassment and bullying at work www.in-equilibrium.co.uk/category/bullying/ .

Look for another job. How can anyone be a benefit to anyone's workforce if there is that atmosphere. Look for another company to work for. Look inside oneself see what you are capable of , what interests you, what your hobbies are., Can your hobby help you to find work. Try something different. One of my jobs was laying gravestones on graves. I did it for six months till I found a different job. Dont leave your job until you find another. Dont TELL work colleagues what You are doing till you get confirmation of new employment (only if YOU want to). You will realise one day about YOUR work life balance. Bear with the unpleasantness knowing you are leaving for a better life.

You show all the obvious, but what about subtle practices that still signify bullying. I remember a time at an old job when if any employee made a mistake in their work, they were basically humiliated in front of everyone, like the manager would state what they did wrong and they had to have a small cactus 🌵placed on their desk to show they were frowned upon! 🤣😭 This was back in 2002 though, don't think they do this anymore in jobs.

Really sorry to hear you have experienced bullying Dorothy, unfortunately, bullies don’t respect the protected characteristics and indeed often direct their bullying behaviours towards people due to one or more of them. There is a useful article with tips for Innocent Bystanders and whether you should intervene if you see a colleague being victimised. You can find a link to it in the Bullying at Work - Articles section of our Bullying at Work resources page, where you can also find further helpful links to advice and assistance. www.in-equilibrium.co.uk/bullying-awareness-resources/. We also have a resources page on our website with links to useful reading around the subject of Mental Health Awareness.

Experiencing this from my work colleague that works in the same team department. Had tried to be the bigger person and dismiss her demeaning behaviour, but today I snapped when I discovered on her open IM messages to another staff stuff about me, really demeaning and humiliating. Brought it up to my line manager who took the opportunity to tell me off about other things I did wrong work wise. I felt he was completely oblivious, like I'm not even worth to be there working in that company :(

Dear Dimple Brave, You are not the first person to find this, we received this feedback recently, “When I came onto the course I was 100% I was not a bully but now looking at things differently, sometimes possibly I am”. Recognising bullying and harassment behaviours in the workplace and the actions that can be taken to stop them is the reason one of our courses is entitled “Bullying in the Workplace: Be Aware!”. Our website has many blog articles and resources that you may like to follow up including www.in-equilibrium.co.uk/bullying-awareness-resources/ which has a section on different types of bullying behaviours. We hope you find this helpful.
