Infected blood scandal: Calls for faster payouts to victims

Campaigners have delivered a letter to Downing Street calling for faster payouts to the victims of the infected blood scandal.
It follows a government defeat in the Commons when MPs voted in favour of a new compensation scheme.
Thousands of people died after being given contaminated blood in the 1970s and 80s.
But decades later many bereaved families are still waiting for final settlements.

My big brother had a blood transfusion in 1982 due to haemophilia, he was 3 years old when diagnosed with AIDS he died aged 10 😢 the youngest and one of the first to be diagnosed in Plymouth. Heartbreaking to watch, being a year younger than him.

NHS got blood from African countries that's how it started.saying they pay 100k to patients who was infected by the blood scandal.but spend billions on cures for the same Africans that landed in the uk that the blood came from.

where did these supplies of blood come from , surely all blood is screened . I understand that HIV wasn't detectable in the 70's but surely it's screened against Hepatitis and always was , well , certainly in the 70's .

My partner got hepc from contaminated blood and sadly only has a few weeks left to live.his liver is shutting down its terrible the way the victims are being treated

If u are referring to the covid jabs u all had a choice to not have them u shud of all stuk together and said no.reguardless if u cud of lost jobs people were given infected blood no comparisons people have suffered for years no apology as of yet u all gad a choice we never I.e hemorrhaging need 2 pints of blood transfusion people who are was haemophilia needed bloid to live experimented on gov tried to keep it quiet there's no comparisons

My mother and grandmother was both infected with hepatitis C. The things we have had to see and experienced could give people nightmares. Unfortunately my grandmother has passed away this year because of the hepatitis C and will never seen justice served.

This happened in the U.S. as well. The hemophiliac population was wiped out because they were given HIV infected factor.

I don’t get why this is just coming out now ?? They knew in the early 80s the blood was tainted in Canada , and still used it until the early 90s By mid 90s they paid out , as far as I know ?

And we are told to TRUST doctors and the medical community- right. This is exactly why I do not trust anything they tell us. Most of them are out to for themselves, and to make money.
