I often watch your videos with my coffee at breakfest. Always interesting even if I use SketchUp for over ten years now and teach it for futur set designers at university level (college here in Quebec, Canada). There are always some little detail or fonction that I missed that you bring up. It's good to refresh the fondamentals of SketchUp. Thank you for doing so with simplicity and humor. Looking forward for the next one. (Sorry if there are some spelling errors. I am french speaking).

Very good. This issue has driven me nuts for years and, because I’m always rushing, I’ve never took the time to look it up and learn it! However, came across this vid whilst on toilet ‘duty’ and voila, now I get it! Thanks for posting. 🙂👍

Thanks Aaron! As a new user I’ve learned so much from your videos . Looking forward to the next installment. I’d also like to put in a request for more woodworking focused videos please!

Great content, you can even learn something in the basic videos. The down arrow key is very helpful. That was an "aha" effect for me. I think you and your livestream guys have a new fan :-)

Dam that was great. I have been using for more than 10 years and didn't know a few of those. Hope they work in my older version.

SketchUp inferencing is so good I never use guides at all. I needed to on other programs. Another point inference colour is magenta when the points are on an object that is in a group.

hi Aaron, why in Layout,, the dimentions lines, arent parallel to the aristas ,,, when we work in an isometric view or in perspective

Magenta Snap sounds like a great SketchUp superhero name. Can we get a LIVE model? I'm picturing a powerful woman with a laser cane and an awesome cape loaded with gadjets that would make Iron Man and Batman envious. 🙃

Would love to see arcs in tangent to each other and two parallel lines. I do a lot of leader pipes for construction drawing in Chief Architech, However I find SU more suited for certain objects. Leaders being one , I’ll draw the profile i need using simple lines and arcs, then use the follow me tool to pull the profile along the path. Well at times I need to do an A elbow into a reversed A elbow then down a straight line. All while confined to a given space. Vertical drop from gutter, then into an A elbow right into a flipped elbow back into a straight down pipe. Doing two arcs can at time be a challenge and Keeping all tangent to one another and to the two vertical lines. Piece of cake in AutoCAD and for the most in SU as well. But there are a few times it struggles. Or seems to. Thanks if you can do a video.

Check out the trutangent extension. It helps with arcs tangent to each other and works off of the true smooth geometry of the arc, rather than the drawn arc segments. When I need an arc between parallel lines, I usually draw a circle and erase half of it.

Hi Sketchup Team, Thanks for another informative video. It is great to watch 'basics' videos for reminders on efficiency to hone workflow. This was especially pertinent today, as I've been getting in a bit of a tizz with inferencing - Sketchup keeps 'second guessing' me! I have been (erroneously) working a house model in Woodworking Template - I think this has generated issues, so I've swapped out for Architectural in mm. One of the problems I seem to have encountered when zooming in to be more precise with my line drawing is that Sketchup sometimes struggles to represent what I'm zooming in on, and will zoom through things and past items I'm trying to work on. Is this a symptom of having been working in Woodworking mm template for bigger projects? Do I have zoom options setup badly? Any steer greatly appreciated.

Try to remember that when you zoom, the camera will zoom in on the pixel that is under your cursor. If there is specific geometry you want to zoom in on, hover your mouse over that piece before scrolling in.

Hi, can you do a video explaining how to model in a detailed environment without inferencing snapping to everything? it's really hard to deal with and there doesn't appear to be a way to turn this off. A lot of people have been asking about this in forums but I've found answers as to how to temporarily switch off snapping.

Hello Aron, could you make a video talking about x, y, z orientation. Inserting or moving objects. Thank you and congratulations in advance.

Technically, there is no x, y, or z in SketchUp. But to learn more about the Red, Green, Blue axis, check out the Square One video on the Axis tool and the Move tool!
