I installed this system 10 years ago for our new house near Phoenix, Az. Our code required us to go about 6 feet down and 7 feet apart (pipe and gravel require a 9' deep trench out here by code). I really like the huge area in the chamber for fluid flow. A conventional pipe and gravel system requires 4 times the length to handle the same amount of waste. I'll be installing another one of these for our vacation house in New Mexico. These require a wider trench than pipe and gravel, but less depth so the amount of dirt removed is about the same. Typically, a deep and narrow trench takes more time to dig than a wide and shallow trench. Your local codes may vary.

My gravel system, being almost 4 feet under ground, has effortlessly lasted 38 years without fail. It still takes high water loads and passes inspection on every pumping. Gravel systems are not that bad if you ask me however, these systems you show here seem alright.

So, the system has to be completely level-- not at a slight incline? How long would it need to be to equate 330ft of standard leach field pipe? The Sanitarian told me the standard pipes had to be 100ft or less so I would need 4 leach lines with standard pipe.

at this point, we are going to focus on the inspector smoking a pipe at 7:27 and proceed with septic code explanations... lol funny how the guy is measuring and smoking a pipe during work.... hahahha

Couple questions regarding this product,one is that obviously roots would gather in time under-mining these bottomless plastic pipes which wouldn't that cause structual blockage or even rising/shifting them out of place in a matter of time? Another question is that the outlet pipe connects only 1"inch inwards to the beginning,that doesn't seem to be much of a connection to fasten this product securely you would think more like 3" in would give it more security correct?

I have this infiltrator system. We bought a new house and the builder said this was the top of the line and an advanced system. At the point where the pump line connects has blown out effluent up and out of the ground. We've lived here 3 years come June. I had the septic pumped out last fall because of this problem. We are in a low part of the neighborhood but the lot passed the perc test. I think ground water is filling up the drain field infiltrator lines and just keeping them saturated. I'm not sure what to do about this problem and after viewing the infiltrator installation process I think that's the issue, too much rain and no where for the water to go.

The depth of the system depends on the perc test of the place where the field will go. The advert says it’ll hold up to 16,000lbs on top of them but I’d only drove over them w light duty vehicles if I had no choice and definitely wouldn’t make a habit of it

by running the perforated pipe all the way thru , the water is spread out on the ground more than when dumped just in side, also better if a couple ae connected together

@erichemard7066

Collapsing of the chambers is due to poor installation practices. After the chambers are installed and leveled, backfill should’ve been pulled down onto both sides of the chambers and compacted. This keeps the sides of the chambers from spreading out and the structure from collapsing. If the trenches are really deep, gravel should be added on top of the chambers to provide support for the dirt above. The chambers are designed to withstand 16,000 pounds, what is not mentioned is that the16,000 pounds includes the weight of the fill above. Depending on the material make up of your soil, during heavy rains, the soil above the chambers can easily exceed that 16,000 pound limit. I’ve installed a number of these chambers on my property as well as friends and families, without a single call back in the last 12 years. Attention to detail and common sense by the installer is a must. Rule of thumb is if the trench is 3’ deep or deeper, add 6-8” of gravel over the top. Anything shallower doesn’t require gravel as long as the backfill is well compacted after filling in the trenches. Hope this helps.

@@erichemard7066 when installing, lets say i sledged a pipe 2 ft down every so often along the edge of the chambers, that would add a hell of alot of sideways structural support, yes? Just for shit and giggles, and i wouldn't mind the extra effort.
@erichemard7066
@erichemard7066 3 жыл бұрын
@@jessegruber8690 Jesse, the extra effort and pipe is counter productive. The sections are around 4' in length so you would need to drive a lot of pipe. As long as the backfill is loose flowing and well compacted along the sides of the structure, you'll be fine. I just finished an install for my son using the method I mentioned above. I have no doubt that his septic system will outlast his house. Another method I've used in the past is a mound system. You break up the ground (a tiller works great) and install the infiltrators on top, then back fill with sand. Check with your local codes or HOA before going this route. If I ground is your only option, using my method provides great results. Hope this helps.

But never shows a " complete " system do-over. How long does it need to be? Or, what about the bottom of the Infiltrator system. How do you Unclog an Infiltrator system when Tree Roots are a part of the Clog? Do I have to replace entire Infiltrator or can I Fix it? My Infiltrator system is Clogged with unknown reasons...what do I do? All companies want to Replace Entire System AND SRPTIC TANK....I'M living on Social Security and can't afford their replacement system PRICES for new tank and new leach field. The Veterans Administration does NOT help me!!! In my 70s and going crazy with this problem....

This type system can be affective but ONLY in the right soil types. If you have too high a sand content (versus clay or loam) the system is doomed (and guaranteed) to fail. Before you install an infiltrator, make sure you conduct a professional assessment of your soil type.

Infiltrator chambers fail due to green house effect takes place where moisture cannot evaporate thru top of chamber allows to stay damp and eventually settles losing its capacity. When failure takes place big mess taking them apart. Conventional stone and gravel is the best long lasting install.

There is no Demo. No evaporation takes place inside the chamber resulting dripping type effects on the inside of chambers resulting the continuous moisture cannot take place. Conventional stone with proper barrier material prior to backfill is recommended. i will post pictures and videos when i come across another job and will expose the end cap of chamber.

you post this nonsense on every chamber video. i've installed lots of these chambers for 10 years now and not once have we had any chamber systems fail due to the chamber itself on any of the installs that we have done. I'm beginning to think you are sponsored by a competitive product...
@SteelRhinoXpress
@SteelRhinoXpress 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know why yours failed. I don't know how it was installed. I don't know what you put down your drains. I don't know anything about your property in regards to if there are any trees around your drain field etc.. But just because you had a problem after 12 years doesn't mean the product itself is flawed. or else 100's of thousands of people would be complaining about them failing and that type of drain field would have been pulled off the market. It's hard to say why yours failed without doing a proper investigation into it.
