Discover infinite peace by exploring the landscape of your mind and the vast consciousness that illumines it like the blazing sun - an experiential approach based on the Yoga Sutras and the traditional teachings of Advaita Vedanta.
0:00 Introduction
4:31 Exploring the Landscape of Your Mind
29:43 Cultivating the Garden of Your Mind
54:09 From Mind to Consciousness
Meditation or dhyana is not simply a matter of making your mind silent (shunya) or peaceful (shanti). There are many types of meditation that involve various aspects of your mind (manas, buddhi) and consciousness (chit, chaitanya). In all these techniques, it's crucial to understand the relationship betweed consciousness or awareness and the various kinds of mental activities (vrittis) revealed by it. On one hand, consciousness is sakshi, the awareful witness or observer of those activities. But from another perspective, vrittis arise in the metaphoric ocean of awareness like ripples in water.
Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit. For more information, please see: www.arshabodha.org/

Kalpeshsolanki What you said is true. But the mind understanding the psychological path that lead to a meditation state of consciousness induce the mind into silence. Which in turn makes consciousness to get into the awareness of itself, outside of the space/time dimension. My brief words here are only a minuscule hint about the ''real thing''. Believe me or not, I live the ''real thing''.

I went through all the chakras and opened them and i have the ability to access them. However because of that i can sense energy and vibration or hz frequency. The one at my work is negative which makes it so i can’t be myself, so i am leaving however leaving takes time as i need to have another place to work as an alternative. This is because of the foolish government system, which makes it so i have to wait 2 weeks before i can leave and announce that i am quitting. Could you give advice on how to get through this? Knowing oneself and being at peace and balance only for it to go away because of bad energy and not being yourself and still having to go i mean.

This is an amazingly good lesson on meditation! It seems most meditation teaching gets focused on “how simple it really is”, maybe in order to not scare people off. But it isn’t all that simple. I’ve been trying to meditate for decades and these videos are finally helping me get some real traction! Many thanks to Swami T.

This is the best and most simplistic explanation of the Patanjali yoga sutra meditation concepts I've ever heard. If we read yoga sutras on our own, the whole meditation concept is spread across many sutras, and it is very complex to understand for ordinary people who don't know Sanskrit. This video has connected those dots well and provides a practical approach to mediation. I'm sure much effort and research has gone into putting this video together. Thank you, Swami Tadatmanada Ji.
