New Super Mario Bros U is too easy so today I made it harder. This is another Mario type challenge video but this time in a 2d game. I had to complete the New Super Mario brothers U with a bunch of restrictions. Some of them were no running, no power ups, no killing or damaging enemies.

It's astonishing how many games have challenges that are like that. Like Sample's "Jumpless Kirby Super Star run" where there's one point in the entire game where you need to jump and that's in Gourmet Race. Every other area gives you some way to gain height (or gets you fighter ability). The Thirdquel where he shows the rest of the Kirby games similarly follow a VERY interesting pattern. XD I'll let others find out for themselves, it's really funny.

this is actually possible, if you jump on a winged koopa and it falls into the void, that is not killing it. it makes it offscreen which is not equal to killing it. if you go far away enough from it and go back to it, the koopa will respawn just fine which means he was not killed. CHALLENGE COMPLETE!

These are always my favorite challenge videos. when that ONE LITTLE THING is the ONE thing preventing the challenge from being possible. This is the kind of stuff that takes games to the literal extreme and I think the mere proof that the WHOLE game can be done if not for that ONE jump is an achievement in itself. After all, Just as much proving something is possible, Nobel prizes are also awarded for proving something is IMPOSSIBLE. And that gives you a challenge accomplished in my book.

He specifically said no DAMAGING enemies. Stomping on a dry bones doesn’t kill it, but it does put it into a position where it cannot do anything. It is incapacitated, and therefore, damaged.

Infinite bits, I have discovered a way to bypass the level in world 6, I went to world 5 and waited for the koopa to do his move to the song in the perfect time, I then jumped over him and wall bounced to get past him. For the second one I let the goomba walk off and took advantage of the pipe to get some speed from wall jumping. The rest was possible. Then I went to level 3 and it was easy, then took the secret in the mid tower to pass the flagpole. I did the ghost house really easily with the secret exit and did the sky level. I reached world 7 which we know is possible from there. I just hated seeing how close you were and was able to do it. I dont have recording software so I cant prove it but just take my word, after those koopas it was really easy. So I can confirm the it is possible to beat the game with this rule set. Oh, btw really good video, I loved it!!

@@InfiniteBits I can vouch, I CAN VOUCH! I been trying to do this myself for a couple hours now to justify whether or not it’s possible, and trust both of us, it’s 1000% possible, I was able to do both jumps in separate attempts and saved the recordings on my switch. If you want proof, if you have Twitter I can DM you my recordings of the jumps, hopefully you can re-upload this video with an update that it’s possible but almost pixel perfect Btw, you just earned a new subscriber :)

Couldn't you do a twirl from the ground? I think it gets you higher and it's not technically running or a midair jump.

@@InfiniteBits I don't know for sure but if you do a spin jump and then immediately jump repeatedly after wouldn't that keep you momentum to be able to clear the jump. So you start next to the plant and then spin jump, jump repeatedly to keep your momentum and then jump at the very edge, at least then maybe you might be at least a bit closer

even if that doesn't work, in the jungle world maybe you could do a wall jump, land on the edge of the pipe then jump immediately after to avoid the Koopas, maybe then you could take the secret exit to world 7
