Today we're looking at three lists from the recent Infinity Global League January 2024 event, which played a round of 90 before cutting to a round of 16. Players were allowed to resubmit lists if they passed into the round of 16, but most chose to play just small variations on their round of 90 lists - and there were some absolute bangers among them.

Ah darn, and I came in looking for your thoughts on the Spiral Corps lists! I was so excited to see SC making it to top 3, especially featuring such mad unit compositions. Seems like serpentis REALLY leaned into the strengths of the faction and it massively paid off... Somehow I always feel that the community dumps a bit too hard on SC, they do have great power in some departments, but I guess it takes a master to field them correctly.

That list was very cool. I'd be wary to recommend it because a lot of the elements can be very fragile under the wrong circumstances (like "going second") unless you're extremely comfortable with how to make them work on the defence. It looked equally terrifying to play with and against!

Chain Rifle Kaitoks ~run on their own. They are ~22 point rugby players that will walk into your DZ unless you have excellent hacking network. Kaitok peeking around the corner asking questions is something no-one wants to deal with.

Something to keep in mind with those drop troops. Is firefight was played twice. And firefight has a +3 to drop bonuses. So those guys were landing on 19s(with support). Ive been playing a 3-4 Lui xing list in my meta and they land on 20s because of it. No roll necessary template weapons anywhere I want on the board is massively effective.

So I didn't mention that in the video because one of the things that I loved about the O12 list is that it could work even in a list without designated landing area. And the list author presumably didn't know firefight would be played twice as the final scenario was randomly generated. However yes I suspect the existence of firefight in the lineup definitely incentivised the list to an extent :)
