I really liked this video. You showed the stats and images of the units (how they look is important if your going to be putting alot of time and money into them). I also like how you explained your opinions. I am new so I don't disagree with anything but if I was experienced I am sure I would like to know why you believe what you say. Sad it only has 5,800 views. I will share this with any friends who like Yu Jing.

i'm now starting with infinity. brought the red veil and the mission pack 6 and then want to build up with the nice Guijia. but this video helps alot to get more into the other miniatures as well.

Also, for what it's worth, resilient specialists are exactly what you need. I love Guilangs, I've finally converted a second Combi rifle model so I have 2 unique ones wielding Combis, but they're only 1 wound. This vid is literally the first I've ever heard anything but praise for Karakuri. Total Immunity is great stuff if your opponent is expecting to rely on missile launchers, fire, double action, and viral. (I'll need to get a pack of heads from Statuesque miniatures before I get some Karakuri myself, as I think the geisha look is pretty dumb, but I'm looking forward to running them on the table.)

You've missed some nasty tricks with the Shikami. They have nimbus plus grenades, which if they chuck them on a corner before popping out to shoot with an assault pistol. With ODD, low vis from the nimbus and cover from the terrain, you can put your enemies at -12 and your assault pistol is still burst 3 or can split burst. That's not bad shooting!

A little harsh on Sun Tze sniper. He does have total immunity, so can take a shock round or missile to the face without it taking away his NWI. You're right though - a linked hmg or other good active turn weapon will erase him pretty quickly, which is not what you want to happen to an expensive LT.

So, it's clear that you know what you're talking about, and you have the experience to back it up. I've been a fan of your scenario write ups and your battle report vids, but I honestly find some of these comparisons a bit reductive. I LOVE the Hac Tao, but I find "not as good as a Hac Tao" and "not as good as a Guilang" to be unnecessarily reductive. Both of those models are AVA 1 and 2. That's 3 models total in generic, meaning you have at least 7 other models to fill out in your army. Yes the Hac Tao is a beast, but all it takes is a bad roll against a MSV2 unit for him to go down, and then what - you've lost a 60-70 point cornerstone of your army. "Just heal him with your Doctor" is not a catch-all. Sometimes your Doctor goes down. Sometimes you go second, and your enemy explicitly targets your Doctor in his/her first turn. (I've done this to opponents myself). Guilangs are great, but again - MSV1 or 2 can be a pain in the butt to deal with. Marker state is great, but again - what if you go second, and you have someone who aggressively wants to clear out your infiltrated camo markers, knowing that they might be infiltrating specialists? The Yan Huo HRMC is indeed a blunt instrument, but I've had enormous success using him against a lone or pair of MSV2 units - splitting burst 3 and 2 against two MSV units down a firelane on an ARM 5 model in cover is pretty severe, and he thus clears out the path for other camo and TO camo units to operate freely. Furthermore, if you make him your Lt, and spend your Lt order on him, put him into total cover and in Suppression Fire, and in the same turn you quietly place down your Hac Tao XO marker (or, in the reactive turn, make your Hac Tao dodge late into the opponent's turn) to reveal himself - you've made a VERY attractive target for your opponent to waste orders trying to put you into Loss of Lt. It's also easy to pooh-pooh Bao Troops if you don't regularly face impersonators in your backfield, or if you're not facing an Avatar with ODD and ARM 9. Just having multiple troops on the field with MSV2 - and X visor makes combi rifles MUCH more effective - will change the route/targets your opponent will take as they march upfield. I guess my point is that while certain models are clearly excellent - like the Rui Shi - there is always, always the chance that they'll go down - and go down early. Taking some more general toolbox units acts as a safeguard against that.

Hm. While I agree Guija is not necessarily the best TAG around, you are wrong about Expel eliminating it. All it does really is lose you an 2 orders (his order + remount order); Pilot can remount with a Short SKill unless they spend the time to track down and kill him, or the orders to shoot your TAG. But mostly, if they've managed to do that without spending all their order pool, you're not supporting your TAG properly.

Hi, just stumbled across this. DO you have any plans on doing one of these on ISS. I know that they have a bunch of unique models that vanilla Yu-Jing don't get access to.

Also, with Lu Dan... if you run a decently heavy remote list with the EVO bot - a burst 2 Heavy Flamethrower in the reactive for ~20 points is pretty absurd.

Definitely agree on the Shaolin Monks. I cannot see why you wouldn't wanna run four. And if you are doing so then some of the visor units you said were pretty woeful do become relevant when comboing with them.You could potentially have 8 smokes on the board with their impetuous and irregular orders then let the visor boys go to town.

Any chance of getting an update on this one? Yu Jing must be the vanilla faction that changed the most in the past few years, with JSA splitting off and Invincible Army units joining the roster.
