Unboxing the Infinix Note 12 VIP, an upgrade over the standard smartphone boasting impressive gaming chops and specs for a budget friendly price. This hands-on review tests the Infinix Note 12 VIP's camera tech, gamer experience and XOS features, while the 120W battery charge rivals Xiaomi, Realme and other phones.
On paper, this mobile offers a lot. The Mediatek G96 chipset may lack 5G support but can handle Genshin Impact, Call of Duty, PubG and other Android titles. Battery life is fantastic with that quick charging tech on board too.
Infinix's Note 12 VIP 108MP camera copes well with a range of conditions although struggles when your subject is close to the lens. It's certainly as good as many rivals, as long as you take your time with your shot. You even have a flash for the selfie camera for those night pics.
You've got a 120Hz AMOLED screen, an okay-ish stereo speaker setup, and that XOS 10.6 setup which adds gaming features and lots of bonus bits. It can be a little shonky at times on the Note 12 VIP but Infinix has included some useful tools like a one-handed mode.
So that's my hands-on review with this budget phone, what do you reckon? Tempted?

Nice you are reviewing this because the brand is popular in Nigeria but when will Infinix put a Dimensity chipset capable of 5G on it's Note based smartphones? It's long overdue but all the other specs are modestly good.

I was hyped with the specs until it came to the processor. Helio degrades super fast. The only reason helio was used so the price wont be so expensive unlike using dimensity or snapdragon

Hey Chris what is the third lens for you didn't mention it in your unboxing its not a bad looking phone but a media tech chip for all the phones attributes I would have preferred a snapdragon chip or a dimensity chip just to get a little bit more out of the phone

With a snapdragon, it would not have been at the same price. Infinix does not aim for the top end of the market and Mediatek fits well into that top-budget band. My issues with Infinix phones are that (1) Infinix would never offer an upgrade to a higher Android version, and (2) I have not seen any Infinix phone that connects with US GSM data bands. The Note 10 Pro on paper looked like it covered most frequencies but I was disappointed. When I visited the US, I had to go back to my old Samsung A9.

Would have been worth to consider opting for it rather than the ERO x 5g if that SoC was better. That AMOLED and 360Hz Touch Sampling Rate would have been better on a smartphone with better Chipset. Still, if it keeps its price cheaper than Zero X 5g then it would be worth some consideration.

Well this design is based on the iphone 4. Apple re-use that design in ip12 /13. Sony is boxy with rounded edges. This is boxy, chamfered edges. This is not a Sony thing, is iphone 4 thing.

Great video as always! I've seen Infinix concept 2021, and that was proper VIP phone! Are they having thst model to sell now? That is a great example to follow for the other manufacturers, in my opinion! The cameras MUST HAVE OPICAL TELEPHOTO, FOR F... SAKE! Only basic entry level smart phones should ditch optical zoom... 🤦🏻‍♂️ Only then phones can be called triple camera sets. And macro lenses are a joke, I can't understand that!🤦🏻‍♂️ Cheers and great success on the channel! 👍🏻🍀

Infinix finally built a device worthy to be reviewed on Tech Spurt. A lot of improvements are needed as I can tell from the video that though it has an AMOLED panel, the colour reproduction is quite sub par when compared with those from Redmi and Samsung. I currently use the Note 10 from Redmi.

I hope they go with mid-to-high dimensity chipset next time, with this symmetrical design & all round features like this, it will be a great deal. I already use an infinix laptop and it's really great, I want to try going total on the infinix ecosystem, but the smartphone spec choices are too low for me. If they can go with upper mid chipset like Dimensity 900 or Snapdragon 778G, It will be awesome.

This phone isn't even sold in EU, it's only available in a handful of countries. He's only reviewing it for content, almost nobody can buy this phone. He just gets phones sent to him and he makes content off them lol

What I find comical about XOS is the funny phrases you see littering not just the OS itself but the apps too. For example, go to Xthemes and look at the area where it gives you wallpaper suggestions. Instead of saying 'You might like:" or something like that, it says, "Guess you like". I swear, the phone's Chinglish really gives it away.
