I remember the day I learned I was an INFJ...when I was 24. To that point, I was confused about myself because I knew I was different. After studying Jung and taking the MBTI, my life was profoundly changed by this self knowledge. Learning about my type and learning to accept myself and how my psyche worked and was constituted opened so many doors for me. My professional life blossomed, my inner life grew deeper, and I found balance.

The ability to see patterns and connection in things gives the INFJ the ability to recognise aspects of problems and events which others miss. In some ways this has the effect of apparently predicting things, but not in some supernatural way.

I am an INFJ, I’ve majored in Psychology, I worked in the SW field, and I presently have a counseling agency. Before people get to know me, they expect me to be cold and unfriendly. Once I open up, they seem to be surprised by how real and empathetic I am, but many have to be able to journey the process through someone else helping them reveal so much about themselves as interactions can, at times, be deep and thought provoking beyond what the mind can absorb and may need time between exposure and new information however positive and appealing it might be.

Yes, that's called when people underestimate you for whatever reason. Often I feel this behavior is not worth responding to, although it's occasionally fun to "surprise" people with the fact that your dreamy reserve does not mean you exist entirely in LaLa Land. I'm not above taking the occasional cheap shot, although I always feel some regret upon doling out the equivalent of a verbal bitch-slap. What can I say, I have high expectations for myself. I guess it's part of being human; I don't know of anyone who is actually eternally patient, especially when it comes to dealing with overtly bullying types.

I'm an INFJ with social anxiety. Yesterday and today we had really nice, sunny weather. I love being outside when it's sunny, like most other people. But if I spot a stranger while I'm out there I immediately get stressed, even if they're at a distance. I was walking my usual route home after grocery shopping and I found several people sitting on grassy knolls that normally aren't used as picnic spots, etc, as well as noticing a group of people happily chatting away in an area that I would have to pass through and it was very overwhelming. I felt like a weirdo, trying to avoid all of the sun bathers and keeping as much distance from the chatty group as possible to get to where I was going. This is why I have no friends 😑

Great analysis and presentation. I am a Self Realized INFJ. When integrated and enlightened, an INFJ's intuition becomes direct knowing. The INFJ is ideally constituted and destined for spiritual life and enlightenment. The contemplative inner life of an INFJ will itself bring about spiritual transformation. Intuition can be a 2 edged sword however. The same powers that give me uncanny insight into Self and spiritual life also give me dark insights into complex global issues like climate change and its dire consequences. I know how climate change will unfold and it scares the daylights out of me. I then look out and see the world and its dominant extroverted sensates in denial and even completely oblivious and carrying on like business as usual will continue forever. It frustrates me that they don't know that their time is short on planet Earth. Their faith in money and technology is wrongly placed. How wrong they are and how ill equipped they are to deal with the horrors that are unfolding and now quickly unraveling.
@Mooseman327
@Mooseman327 7 ай бұрын
Not quite. There is no actual climate crisis. The planet is NOT heating up. Climate is always changing, never static, and the long cycles that we can measure are all completely within normal ranges, as they should be. The view that we're in some kind of human-created climate crisis is complete nonsense and has been inculcated into people by those who hold and seek power to rule the world. The statistics that indicate such have been manipulated and distorted beyond all measure with the goalposts continually changing. If satellite data contradicts the narrative, they don't change the narrative, they change the data. This is part of a Problem/Reaction/Solution political employment. The "solution" in this case would be global control of all resources, especially energy and food, by a powerful elite. THAT is their goal. And be wary of all statistics by official "captured" agencies and the mainstream media which continually pushes that propaganda. By far the biggest problem humans create for the natural world are the toxic pollutants such as chemicals and artificial fertilizers that we pour into the environment to the tune of hundreds of billions of tons each year. That's each year. It is THIS toxic onslaught that is killing living creatures from micro-organisms in the soil to all plants and animals. But because there is big money to be made in such chemicals, and because those pushing the fake climate agenda want to use the fact that living creatures are dying as evidence of climate change, this monstrous and deadly situation continues without debate or question. Everything they are telling us is a lie. The work for us is to discover, through our own efforts, exactly what they are lying about, knowing that all corporate, governmental, and non-governmental agencies, are funded by the same billionaires who have the same goals, to control every person, place, and thing on this planet. And this is what our introverted intuition is telling us.

I thought I wasn't psychic at all until I took some psychic awareness classes in which the psychic teacher/Shaman showed us how to recognize our abilities in various ways, and as it turns out...sheeeooooottt mannn, slap my ass and call me Allison DuBois, I'm psychic as all get-out! Since then my abilities have increased and strengthened, especially in the last six years or so, a right powerful wizard, I'll have you know! Not tellin' ya' how to live your life but, here's a suggestion or two; learn about and try to fully grok the Law of Projection/Attraction/ Vibration/Expectation/Synchronicity. This Law of existence PAVES the way to unlocking whatever psychic ability you care to develop, and can eventually lead to unlocking God Mode, which as an INFJ (the oldest and wisest of the old souls) you have access to. (God Mode is dope af, btw; everything becomes easy and works out perfectly all the time, and you see synchronicity non-stop...and you get to be a super hero from time to time!) I would also suggest that you consciously choose to be happy. Say "I choose to be happy!" over and over again...and never stop for the rest of your life! It's been almost six years since the first time I said those words, and while I am very happy with most of my life, I still say it several times a day. Choose to be happy and the things, people, and experiences that will return you to happiness will start to fall into place. But you must have a lot of patience, because the flow of synchronicity will take you to where you want to be only when it, and you, are ready. See if you can find a weekly group meditation circle. This may be largely unavailable, and many are led by fake psychics. If you do find a good one though, the benefits to your ESP are enormous. Finally, go dancing with Mary Jane, for INFJs get far more from her than the average hairless ape.

@@krayzeeasskris Deep wisdom is usually accompanied by humbleness. The wiser one becomes, the more they accept that there is much they do not know. An important part of INFJ growth is accepting that we are not necessarily wiser than anyone else. Ni is only as wise as what you feed it. Left unquestioned, Ni is dangerous, because it can give us confidence in situations where we are in fact incompetent. It can also give illusions of grandeur, as it did to Hitler. Ni does not replace rational thinking and systematic problem solving. Ni does not keep a plane from falling out of the sky. Ni does not make a plant grow to feed the hungry. Ni is innovative and clever, but imprecise. It will fail you big time at some point if you never question it. When that happens, it will hopefully be humbling. We may be esoteric but we are not magical. We are human, just like everyone else.

Introverted thinking, while tertiary, creates the Ni Ti loop which is one of the cognitive patterns that make the INFJ appear aloof. So though it is tertiary in the function stack, when combined with the primary introverted intuitive function it has an amplified effect on the inner world and the outer persona of the INFJ (and is the primary reason why the INFJ can at times appear aloof).

I've realised that I need time to process and investigate my feelings after some event triggers an unrecognised but strong inner reaction. I never immediately know what the reaction was about or how it relates to whatever caused it. I just feel internally jarred as if knocked off balance. In the past, and I'm talking decades of lifetime, because everything always has to be done in the moment (or so it has always seemed to me), including respond to people and situations, I felt pressured to respond immediately (especially by my mother) and this had me suppressing my inner reactions because there was not time for investigation, consequently saying yes or just going along with others preferences and feeling off-balance and actually unwilling. Folks don't have a lot of patience for "I don't know yet, I'll get back to you", about which movie you want to go see or which veges you want on your plate for dinner, or some much deeper issue. And truly it can come down to that, investigating what I feel in order to make a good choice for myself can take way too long for the person who sees things in black and white, or lives by routine and habit. I have learned to acknowledge these inner "jolts" and to request time to think about whatever may have triggered it. Behind them there is an inner realm of information, insight, memory and the wherewithal to make a correct choice for myself.

All of my life, I've had people tell me that I am a good listener and am able to think through others' problems, then give good advice. People open up to me and tell me things that they might not tell just anyone. It's like they can tell that I'm the sort of person whom they can trust. They are right. I never gossip about people, not even the ones who tell me things. I never betray a confidence, nor spread rumors. Some say that I have an uncanny ability to predict what will happen and that I'm almost always right about it. When they ask how I knew, I can't always adequately express it. It's like I can see patterns in what others see as chaos. Or see how seemingly unconnected things are actually quite connected. As a kid, when I learned what the word 'holistic' meant in English class, I remember thinking 'Of course, that makes total sense. Everything is connected to everything else and affects everything else. Why wouldn't you stop to consider every aspect of a problem or situation?' I think it's why I've gravitated towards gardening as one of my professions. It is one that lends itself well to holistic problem solving. Success in gardening isn't about getting one aspect of it right, it's about getting all aspects of it right. The thing that keeps me from being a true INFJ though is my instinctive aversion to dealing with feelings 'head on' or delving into them deeply - especially the feelings of others. I'm much more comfortable with focusing on physical things and abstract ideas. A person tells me they feel sad. My instinct is to try to figure out if there is an underlying reason why they feel sad and to see if there is anything tangible about it that can be improved, replaced or better understood so that I can help them solve the root of their sadness. In the meantime, if I can do something for them that makes them feel happy, thus alleviating their sadness, at least temporarily, I'll try to do it. But, it is difficult for me to sit with them and just listen to them describe their sad emotions in detail and go over and over the situation that is making them feel sad, without trying to do anything about it. That's why I'd probably make a poor therapist. I'd probably be too quick to try to get them to stop focusing on their feelings and start focusing on the cause so that they can solve it.

Fantastic content. You’ve got a new subscriber! I watch so many INFJ videos and a lot of them are unicorn fluff, but this was very informative information. One thing I particularly like that you touched on was that INFJs are not likely to fall for manipulation tactics. I feel this within myself very strongly. If I sense that someone is trying to manipulate me, especially emotionally, I get really angry and rebel against whatever they’re trying to make me do or feel. This is why I am so peeved by passive-aggressive people. I’d rather them be forthcoming with their feelings rather than dropping hints.

Me as an INFJ: "Why is it so freaking hard to put my thoughts into words?!" Me listening to your description of Ni: "Oh." I disagree with the music Fe-Fi (fo fum) analogy though. Because Ni very easily relates to art of all kinds, and we would kill or die before letting anybody screw with our Ni. Once something enters one of the archetypal/abstract concept bubbles, it's there to stay. Ain't no Fe strong enough to budge us on that; we'd just hide it.

Okay guys, I need your honest opinion on on this. Why is it so damn hard for me to say my thoughts out to people. I might have a brilliant Idea or someone asking me a simple question like, say "tell me about your self", my tounge will get all tied up, my brain will be busy trying to play out all the possible scenarios, answers and responses before finally answering the question. At a point I thought I was just an introvert, despite being able to socialize well with people, I very much prefer to be alone, growing up sometimes I'll cover my head with a pillow and just let my mind wonder, ponder and fantasize all sorts of things, i liked being alone so much that going out into world and interacting with people sometimes freak me out, I'm constantly aware of peoples emotions, always trying not to offend someone, So is that normal or am I just bat shit crazy?
@sonyafirefly3879
@sonyafirefly3879 4 жыл бұрын
@@khaleedlawal6208 If you're an INFJ, your brain automatically goes to the biggest possible picture. This makes it very difficult to communicate, because you're struggling to convey so much in one sentence. I think that we as INFJs get into a habit of trying to give people what they want in a conversation. We are very aware of the fact that we stink at communication, so we try every chance we get to fix that flaw in ourselves. But what has helped me the most is letting myself slow down. Your brain is perfectly capable of discussing the details with people; it just works backwards (coming up with the answers before asking the questions), so you have to give it time. Rather than trying desperately to be the conversationee that people want, let yourself use your intuition to break down the intangible feeling that you have. People will definitely talk over you, not realizing that you were going to respond, and you will probably end up being more honest than you planned. But if you want sincere relationships, it's worth it. You are probably always going to live more in your head than in reality. That is fine, and you aren't crazy. But it is important to train yourself to let in things from the real world too. Again, you can do this slowly. What helps me the most is finding connections to the important archetypes in my head. For example, It's easier for me to not feel stressed out by the expectations of strangers when I "feel them out" and compare them to fictional characters. Being in crowds makes me feel physically ill because of the overdose of secondhand emotions, but I can deal with it by focusing on things that energize me whenever I see them. I've thought for a long time about making a sort of small scrapbook to carry with me that's full of things that physically link me to my inner world. Some incredibly helpful and releable books for me are the Fairyland books by Catherynne Valente, A Little Princess by Francis Hodgson Burnett, The Book of Atrus by David Wingrove and Rand Miller, and Perelandra by C.S. Lewis. Dostoevsky is extremely helpful. So is Plato. Hang in there, and try to live in a way where you can show the world as much of your inner world as you can. Just take it slow so you can be true to yourself.

If you are an INFJ, invest in expanding your vocabulary. There is much that you cannot explain with words, but when you can (and do), it will be so rewarding to have others understand your perspective. Using big words will seem very natural for you, because you often think deeply about how and when to use them.
@khaleedlawal6208

@@migjordanpayawal7856 I'm not sure if that will help much. I love reading which makes me learn new words everyday, sometimes I can perceive the meaning of a word before checking it in the dictionary, and yet words still get stuck in my mouth and I find it hard to make a sentence sometimes. I think knowing to many words can make it harder to tall, because your mind will have a larger amount of words to analyze before choosing the right one to use.

I thank you, because you provided some additional interpretations on the characteristics of the type that I've never seen before. This pleases especially because I feel in sync with some things you said and I feel glad to learn such thing. The main thing I want to congratulate you is your definition of Ni. This really seem like a very difficult thing to do, I may be involved with it all the time, but it's mainly subconscious and unstructured, so I have a hard time explaining it. You're spot on in my opinion, simply, it's a complete system of metaperception and its abstractions and categorizations, in such a way that the real sensing gets a back seat, in favour of shortcuts of interpretation of meaning, implications, cause, effect and a lot of inner connections between all of these that elevate the quality of the interpretation of facts, and consequently, of reality's aspects and events. This is probably the main source of the myths of predicting the future and reading minds. I believe Ti can have a great part on the quality and efficiency of this internal system of thought, I'd certainly say so about my internal logic's role in my reasoning of the world. I also got a smile hearing what you said on how _exactly_ we're prone to qualities deemed of counselors, I never considered in this way how Ni as described above could also support emotional knowledge in the system, and that we quite automatically tend to see emotions and values in a similar way that expands the perception of them and their ontological comprehension as well, resulting in a better preemptive understanding.

I feel like this is why I’m always trying to draw my word with my hands because it can be so hard to express myself with words... thank you for the video.

More easier to express my views in written form I don't like being put on the spot. I get nervous pretty easily. I feel I didn't fully says what I wanted to say. Journaling with reflective writing is great way to discover meaning behind experience with the world.

I think you really have researched on this, many people have made it a views gathering topic, there are plenty of videos about this topic but your feels more genuine.

Wow...... you described so much about me that I always thought was a secret or unknown. And I always try to not allow confirmation bias creep into my thinking as best as I can. Ever since I was a child I have been so deep in thought , always wondering about how I think and so on. I tried the social thing for years but never liked it....now at 48 I have finally retreated back to my childhood comfort of isolation however this time with the knowledge that this is preferable to me. Anywho nice video

This was really insightful and I appreciate how directly to the point you are. Would you consider doing an INFP video? And perhaps an INFP vs INFJ one? I know they share none of the same cognitive functions so I’m a bit embarrassed that I can’t figure out which one I am but I still find myself confused at times because I can relate so much with both of them. Thanks!

I had to freeze this before the three minute mark the description you were giving is a little hard for me to keep up with never been to college but I think what you’re trying to say is when I eat food I see things in my head related to the taste and texture I get visuals in my mind hard to describe that’s just the tip of the iceberg back to the video LOL
