I recommend diversifying your investments by considering stocks alongside real estate. During a recession, there are potential buying opportunities in the stock market if approached cautiously. Additionally, market volatility can offer short-term buying and selling opportunities. However, please note that this is not financial advice. It's important to be proactive in investing as cash may not be the most advantageous option during these times.

Accurate asset allocation is crucial, and some individuals use hedging strategies or allocate part of their portfOlio to defensive assets for market downturns. Expert guidance is vital for achieving this. This approach has helped me stay finan-cially secure for over five years, yielding nearly $5 million in returns on invest-ments.

Really where are investors putting their cash? Isn’t it crazy how mortgage rates continue to rise with higher imports and declining exports, but the FED is yet to lessen cost. Something will eventually break if they keep raising interest rates and quantitative tightening.

Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

Your best option if you are unfamiliar with the markets is to seek advice or help from a consultant or investing coach. I know it sounds simple or generic, but talking to a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and increase my portfolio to roughly 65% since January. For me, it's the best method to enter the market right now.

Inflation is far more harmful to individuals than a collapsing stock or property market because it directly affects people's cost of living, which they immediately feel. It is not surprising that the current market sentiment is extremely pessimistic. In today's economy, assistance is critical if we are to survive.

In Canada, the government has accused grocery stores of price gouging their customers while running the biggest deficit in history and overtaxing everyone. They even brought the CEOs of grocery chains into the parliament and asked them to come up with a strategy on how to reduce prices. As you might have guessed, nothing came out of it and grocery chains announced that they will raise prices even more.
@sblijheid
@sblijheid 4 ай бұрын
Isn't the issue in Canada the carbon/ green taxes. Gas and fuel are in all prices. I've seen this guy show an original $26 gas bill, ending up costing $124 because of all the added green taxes. Perhaps Canadians should get up and start protesting to the point that you completely cripple the economy. Politicians have shares in businesses. Letting the economy come to a grinding halt, hurts them where it counts. In my home country, about 25 years ago, that's exactly what we had to do to get rid of a president who was spending like a drunken sailor. He did about the same as democrats do, except the corruption and lining of his and his cronies pockets, was blatant, because we didn't have laws on the books to prevent it.

The Trudeau Liberals always blame everyone else for the problems they create. Trudeau ran huge deficits and needed to raise taxes. He started a carbon tax which increased the cost of food production, processing, transportation...Trudeau blames the grocery stores. The government hires more people to start a new tax...so what did Trudeau do? He started an entirely new second carbon tax in 2023 with an entire new bureaucracy . These Liberals have no concept of how fiscal responsibility works.

Public sector jobs dont produce anything. Thus the more of those we have, the more inflation we get. Also public sector jobs dont allow for corrections, they keep getting a salary even if the task they are doing is loss making. In the private sector if someone was not productive or doing loss making work they would soon be out of work, thus be unable to spend until they found something productive to do. This doesnt occur with a public sector job.

There is a famous French economist, Thomas Piketty. He went over all the tax records of France and the United States. These two countries have the oldest tax records that go back all the way to the 1700s. What he discovered was that currently US has the same level of wealth inequality as France just before the Revolution! Now Piketty is a critic of capitalism, so he does have an agenda, but the numbers seem to check out. The other thing is that American political scientists have discovered is that US has gone much deeper and much longer political polarisation than any other advanced democracy. No one trusts the politics, the media, the Fed and so on. Just look at the survey data. Trust in everything is at record lows. So what I'm driving at is, imagine what will happen when reality asserts itself. The economic meltdown happens during all this political dysfunction. You are going to have Powell dragged into the guillotine! If you are a man (or woman) of property, you need to get out of the United States. Forget the Dollar, the Union itself is going to have an extreme crisis.

Peter Schiff has for 15 years or so claimed that "the market is wrong". But isn't the whole idea of investing to buy assets that increase in price, i.e. that the market will value more highly over time? That in turn means that the market CANNOT be "wrong" over time. it is Peter who is wrong.

Gold will be boring like it’s supposed to be until it isn’t. When the panic from the official recession hits and gold dumps that will be the last chance to get in at these prices of 1600-2000. After the next round of bailouts and inflation gold is going to be worth at least 5k an ounce and just upwards from there. What’s the argument against gold? That it isn’t giving you a high yield? It’s not supposed to. It’s insurance against the system that anyone will agree with is very shaky right now. If you don’t own gold or silver you’re a retard.

Peter is incapable to change his views, even when the facts change. He has been promising that 'gold will go trough the roof' forever. Well, we're still waiting. Also recommending to buy miners is borderline irresponsible, given that that industry is historically been horrible and very risky. Yes, every now and then you can find some 10-100 bagger, but the odds aren't very great. Although some macro points that Peter makes have validity, I would not listen to him for any financial advise, only for entertainment purposes.

Gold is an investment for long term. Peter never said to trade it for short term gains. He also stresses to use extra money you don’t depend on. Look at a stock chart of Gold. From 2011 until today it’s made a cup and handle. In the last three years it’s been consolidating with strength. The time horizon is years, not days or weeks. When it takes off it will produce results. But to predict exactly when it takes off is impossible. I’m in no way advocating for Peter. I used to be his biggest critic from 2020 to 2022. But his analysis on inflation has been spot on. And everything he says makes sense.

Peter's big mistake is claiming that gold is a hedge against consumer price growth. It is of course not. It is a hedge against monetary inflation, but most of all its price reflects geopolitical risks. This is why the gold price is higher now than before the Fed raised rates. It is due to increased risk of major wars having gone up a lot and expectations of monetary easing.

Np one seems to be taking into account the holds on Federal spending that have been repeatedly imposed by Congress over the past several months because of partisan disputes that have prevented the "release" of much Federal spending. For example, the hold on aid to Israel and Ukraine. Even greater restrictions on Federal spending have been placed by the laws repeatedly passed by Congress that limit Federal spending to short periods of three to six weeks until the Republican demands for spending cuts are at long last accepted by Congress and the President. If the two parties keep kicking the can down the road without reaching agreement on spending cuts, Federal money will only be relased in dribs abd drabs. That creates and artificial limit to inflation that will disappear once the two parties finally agree spending for this fiscal year. Once all Federal funds that have been appropriated are finally released, inflation will jump.
