I don't agree that Malcolm x exposed Elijah Muhammad because of jealousy over sister Evelyn. The timeline doesn't add up. Malcolm X could have chosen Evelyn if he wanted to, but he married Betty. He married Betty in 1958. If he was jealous that Elijah Muhammad got with sister Evelyn why would Malcolm wait 5 years to get made at the situation. If Malcolm married Betty, he had to have known that eventually Evelyn would married another man. Why would he wait all the way until 1963 to get mad? I was always confused when people say that malcolm x was out of line for exposing Elijah Muhammad and getting into his personal life. That is how the Nation worked. They inspect and watch members and if you get caught you get in trouble. One of Malcolm X's brothers got in trouble for fornication. How come nobody says that the nation was out of line for getting involved in Malcolm X's brothers' personal life? By their logic every member of the noi that gets caught violating the rules can just tell them to stay out of my personal life. That is hypocritical. This had nothing to do with sister Eveyln.
