One of the most confusing bones in head and neck anatomy and you nailed it! Prior to this, I found it extremely difficult to conceptualize the sphenoid bone, no less pterygoid plates in 3D space. Thank's for the description. Going in to repair a Lefort fracture now!

I'm doing research on how to draw the head more accurately and went down a rabbit hole and found this. this is quite informative. I'm still way over my head @~@
