I bought the A&D and a V4 a little over a year ago. Super happy with it. I can't imagine this being that much better for double the price. Especially when you consider having to buy all those extra disks and changing out parts when you switch powders. Maybe it's a little faster, but my v4 is already faster than I can dump the load into a case and seat a bullet, so a little extra speed dropping a charge is meaningless for me. The Sartorious balances are nice, but they are expensive. Not sure nearly three times the price of the A&D is worth +/- .02 grains finer resolution. Either way, had this been around when I was looking, and at more reasonable price, I might have given it a look. With that said, it is a nice bit of kit and if you don't mind the price, I'm sure it'll work plenty well enough.

What you don't have with the V4 is the repeatability and consistency. This is where this unit distinguishes itself from all others. When you change from one powder to another and then back, it saves those settings and will repeat exact

John was just showing the rude and crude right out of the box and calibrating for each of the powders. He didn't spend any time fine tuning. I can tell you, charges average about 4-8 sec religiously. It drops the bulk charge in about 1/10 of 1 second and trickler does the rest.

That’s awesome. Can’t imagine spending $1500+ on just the scale though. I mean, if you got it, you got it. “Ball out” as the young ones say. I’m still relatively knew but does the other FX scale not have enough granularity for reloading powder? I can imagine if were trying to see the difference between 0.001gr then it’d be worth investing but from the limited info I have on the FX it seems like that should be plenty good enough for the size particles we deal with in reloading. I don’t know. I’m no pro so maybe I’m way off base. Very cool nonetheless. Every time I’ve check the site for this it’s been a $0.00 preorder thing but it never seems to give me a price or date as to when they will start selling them. I imagine there will be a large backlog of orders to get out and could be months before you can easily order one from the site. Will keep eyes out though. 👍🏼

Surely someone could take a couple days, "fine tune" each powder and create a simple database with the settings for each powder to be optimal so that on the app you just tap the powder you are dispensing instead of all the calibration / fine-tuning each time? The discs are specific to certain powders anyway, so I assume there has been data captured already?
@ingenuityprecision
@ingenuityprecision 8 күн бұрын
You only calibrate a powder one time and you save it forever. It only takes about 45 sec to do the calibration. There is just enough difference between your same powder as mine in humidity to make it run slightly different which would require tiny tuning anyways. So no real benefit to a database

I pre-ordered one and planning to switch from V4 Auto. If I’m only shooting one or two different powder, certainly V4 is good enough. But loading 5+ different caliber with all kinds of different powder, V4 can easily get me frustrated. The only concern I have with this one, judged by the previous video, is how easy it is to switch between different powder. Hopefully I can get mine soon and try it out.

@@bluekats777 The reason I said what I said is that a lot of people do not understand that if the particular powder is say .02-.04gr in average size with some variance between them that it can be impossible to get exact 22.78-22.8 every charge. The powder kernels have to be consistent in their size. If they are then you could set the acceptability to 0.0 and it will finish each charge to exact

@@bluekats777 Yea, my tested N570 is more like .08gr per ea. A lot of powders from VV and Alliant are very inconsistent in kernel size.
