Ingested (Sean Hynes [guitar], Sam Yates [guitar], Lyn Jeffs [drums]) talk about the evolution of their lyrics from offensive for the sake of being brutal to something more nuanced. They touch on people thinking social justice warriors are going to hate some of their lyrics, even though the lyrics were being misinterpreted. Interview conducted May 15 in Toronto when the band were on tour with Signs of the Swarm and Bodysnatcher, ahead of their appearance on the "Devastation on the Nation Tour."

I try and explain the fact that slam is like a horror movie and its not to be taken too seriously to people who dont get it but they dont ever understand

Idk, I mean Infant Annihilator do the intentionally offensive/gory lyrics and that's gotten them attention - mostly positive. Regardless though, I like Ingested's newer lyrics.

I always thought that Jason's the mastermind behind the lyrics. Does anyone know what he meant with 'different interpretation'? Aren't their newer lyrics about misantrophy, murder, narcissism and stuff?
