I’m an introvert as well, I used to live in that city and remember anticipating being grown so I could get the fuck out of there. It was wild in the 90’s but they weren’t so stupid. It's not that simple. To become an interpreter you have to actually have credentials from a college/trade school then work for a company after for a few years THEN you can freelance
