I love that when they ask where the band name came from, Elijah doesn't answer even though the name came from people making fun of him, he let's someone else explain. That's big sign of humility people. I think we have a very humble lead singer which is gonna result in some pretty good meaningful songs from this new generation, and boy oh boy do we need that right now, no more of this American crap please. World needs soul.
@jackj28514 жыл бұрын
bewitzmadman yeah he’s super down to earth, his IG is private and only allows people to follow he knows which is pretty rare. They’re all pretty grounded tbf

Brian Toal just hope once they become a big well known name people won’t put any of it down to his dad because he clearly hasn’t had much to do with their current success

The great part of Elijah is he hasn’t used his status as being Bono’s son to gain him leverage. Him and the rest of the band have worked their way up like most musicians do (I say this as a musician myself).

You got that right, and you spelt his name properly!

Must be so frustrating for them to have this big accomplishment and then half the time they just talk about Elijahs dad.
@bewitzmadman4 жыл бұрын
As an Aussie, I get the feeling Elijah ( a biblical name, thanks dad ) is like Dhani Harrison ( George Harrison's son, whom I know ),, very humbled by having a super famous Dad. Unlike American artists of famous parents Miley Cyrus for one, who's a super lost soul, Elijah seems very grounded in his Irish roots with seemingly genuinely down to earth band mates, who are clearly just having fun NOT trying or wanting or driven by fame. Dhani is one of the kindest most humble and truly spiritually awakened souls I've met. George's spirituality clearly has shaped Dhani as a human being. Elijah comes across to me in the same way, he's clearly been influenced by his parents passion for humanity with an awareness of being a small part of God's creation. If you can read body language it's really obvious Elijah just wants to sing and not talk about singing, He's a kid, with his school mates, from a country that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm impressed by the way he didn't hold court but rather the others talked. That's humility a lesson Miley, all the Kardashian twats, and other American celebrity kids could learn from. Good luck Inhaler, love that your band name has embraced what others saw as your weakness. Way to turn a negative into a positive.

Yeah but Matt Healy's Dad is the bloke in a dress out of Benidorm and his Mum is that pissed up old bird on Loose Women, who gives a fuck about them anyway. This guy's Dad is one of the most famous rockstars of all time - I think he's still going to get questions about him no matter what.

The U2 connection means Inhaler probably has more 50-year-olds checking out their music than a typical GenZ rock band. (Not that there are a lot of GenZ rock bands to begin with; this is a generation that prefers EDM, hip-hop, and pop, or some combination thereof.) But beyond that, the music has to be good-- and it is. They aren't coming out of the gate with expensive, overly polished videos or stage shows. Their interviews don't sound scripted. Indeed, they all seem very genuine. These are four young guys in a band, making good music, the way it should be. It's very refreshing in an era where so much entertainment is wrapped in flashy packaging.

@YourLoyalDeserter3 жыл бұрын
There are tons of gen-z rock bands. The biggest difference between this one and previous ones is how diverse this one's taste is. There's all sorts of music being made now by all sorts of people, and there are plenty of better current rock bands than Inhaler. The Greeting Committee, Alvvays, HAIM, Circa Waves, Another Sky, The 1975, Cage the Elephant, Weyes Blood, Wallows, First Aid Kid, the list goes on. Also, their videos are as polished as they come. Just look at the one for Ice Cream Sundae. These are four young guys in a band, making relatively decent music, and getting a leg up on their superior competition because of money, publicity, connections, and fans from the signer's much more talented father. The way it should be? I think not.

@nat21583 жыл бұрын
@@munchie6346 I absolutely agree. I’m 50 something in Australia and heard them for the first time on the radio while driving yesterday. I turned up the sound as I heard a young U2, by the bands sound and Elijahs voice, which gave me a nice moment of reminiscing 😆 ( my all time favourite band of the 80s) So I do feel this band has to recognise there is definitely a connection even if it is by default, otherwise I know my attention would not of been captured and I would of flicked the channel. At the same time they are obviously putting in much hard work and deserve respect and to stand on their own, which will come in time. Well done boys👏🏼👏🏼

Have been a u2 fan for 35 years and can honestly say that this band are different. Met them after their last belfast gig and they were humbled that people hung around after to talk with them and get autographs and photos, so genuine even when they jumped into their wee ford transit to leave lol. Hope they really go on to be a massive band in their own right as eli seems to not want to do it on his father's shirt tails so respect to the kid as his is a real gentleman to talk to as well as an amazing live performer. ✌

They have a lot in common with the first U2, even if they try to hide it talking about various other influences. I think that if the singer wasn't Bono's son they would definitely put U2 as one of the main influences.
@ChrisR_684 жыл бұрын
I so want them to be themselves and make music for them and all their influences put together kind of thing. But I just want to say he does look like his Dad...... & He sounds like him a bit and I noticed more or less straight away. But that's all I will say because that's how I felt when he started to sing, that said the band are brilliant I love their sound, I had a feeling in interviews that it's going to come out but then that's it out the way and focus on some brilliant new music from Ireland ,,😁👍👍👍👍

I'd wish that young emerging artists who happen to be children of FAMOUS STARS would just embrace their particular circumstance without any kind of embarrassment of feelings of guilt what so ever. It is ok to say "yes, I think that having a musician for a dad and having witnessed first hand the creative process of composing a song have definitely influenced me as a musician and a song writer....." I mean in all honesty, BONO is one of the BIGGEST NAMES in the HISTORY of MUSIC, so it is nearly impossible for any interviewer not to ask about the MASSIVE ELEFPHANT in the room. Children in Elijah's circumstance must know that question will be asked EVERY TIME, so they might as well OWN IT and show an "IN YOUR FACE" attitude about it.
@aurorachivalry10844 жыл бұрын
he's stated in a previous interview that he won't try to pretend to be his own person, and that he's proud of his dad. and if he wants to act that way, that's his business. i can imagine it gets tiring being asked every single interview if your dad gave you any help, especially when they state all the time that none of them have really received any extra help
@walterhigo76584 жыл бұрын
@@aurorachivalry1084 He was very clear about not receiving any help, and that's ok... He handled that PERFECTLY!, but then when he was asked about how growing up in a musical family may have influenced him, he got a little unconfortable and tongue tied about it, and he really shouldn't. He should've had the exact same attitude he showed when answering the first question.... Say, WELL OF COURSE!!! That's how I became interested in making music... by being exposed to it every day... That way he can make the interviewer feel they've asked a really silly question. Having said all this, I'm pretty sure it is not easy having to deal with it all the time.

They will have to work very hard to tear down the Joshua tree
