Shoaib Akhtar is one of the most physically strong athlete who relied on his pure muscle strength like Matthew Hayden, Andrew Symonds, MS Dhoni. He has one of the biggest biceps and one of the monstrous thighs. Infact I can say that a bodybuilder played cricket

Shoaib ' power was: slower slow medium fast medium fast then fastest. Speedwise great variations , line & length, bouncers yorker.. rarely inswing and out swing as well. Targeting the pads while hitting wickets , targeting head while attempting to edge and frighten the batsman. great bowler..

Tremendous pace bowling from the Rawalpindi Express, my all-time favourite Mr. Shoaib Akhter. During that time so many pacers can easily cross 145 kmph; like- Brett Lee, Shane Bond, Makhaya Ntini, Nanty Heward, Darren Gough and so on. Really miss those battles of Batsman and Bowler.

Right. Moin Khan himself has admitted of ache and pain while keeping wickets. Shoaib Akhtar earned name for being the fastest bowler. That is true. But now if you see him, he has ruined his life by putting extra pressure on his bones and muscles as we all know he started walking at the age of 12. But still salute him for his passion and commitment. No one would have done this if he) she was in his place.

That time bowlers were much quicker then now Brett li, akhatar Shaun tied,dale steyn,gul,sami shame bond that's why shoaib akhatar holds record for fastest ball in 2003 till now only anchar,furgoson,stact bowls sometimes more 150 now 1-2 Bowlers reach 150 in odd days

Shoaib making these great batsmen from NZ look like club cricketers whilst playing with bad injuries. These days good batsmen such as Babar, Rohit etc make fast bowlers look like kids bowling to them especially in ODIs. Batsmen must be getting better or bowlers cant be bothered bowling with as much effort Shoaib put in.

The first speed cameras in nz were picking up bowlers about 10kph slower then they actually were. This is a prime example.

This is Pakistan tour of New Zealand 2001. 5 ODIs were played and Shoaib Akhtar was coming back after ban for chucking. In this series his action had changed in the delivery stride. I watched this series very keenly and was actually disappointed as the speed guns never crossed 146 147kmph. The fastest ball was 151kmph in the whole series. Not only Akhtar but all bowlers even New Zealand bowlers were bowling 128, max 133. Waqar fastest was 138. Same with Wasim. There was a strong belief that speed gun was showing 5 kph slower.
