This isn't actually the optimized version of this tech. What you can instead do is, after ending with the drill, summon a bomb trait with no delay. Even if the opponent hits you with a wakeup, the bomb will still land, resulting in a trade, or, if you read the wakeup and block it, you get a full combo punish into the same situation. From here, you can use instant air divekick as your overhead option, and sweep as your low option, both of which allow you to go into the same d2 combo you were doing and end with s3 cancelled into df2 (I usually just do the mix right into the ender as its only about 40 less damage and conserves about a quarter of the trait meter). The execution is very tight on this one, but the work is well worth the reward of establishing dominance over your opponents wakeup options against many characters. Sorry about the wall of text I just wanted to be clear and didn't give much thought to being concise.

I talked to PL about this about 2 weeks ago. He said he uses the default controller layout. Interesting stuff.

Seven years later I remembered this video and I decided to look into it. So as it turns out if you do an instant back jump dive kick instead of the regular instant air option, you can sync it in time to do a F3, S3->DF2; furthermore, the corner combo from the overhead then becomes F3, D2->trait, S3->DF2. Unfortunately though, this is determined really heavily by the distance of dive kick.

Swaggy stuff. Looks like it's time to hit the lab once more. After seeing PL's Brainiac at EVO i've been playing around and a friend is nonstop bombarding me with any kind of cool stuff Pryce puts up. I too have swapped my buttons, though I swapped it with my EX and have essentially leaned the game accordingly. Lots of fun set up stuff you can do, as well as just increasing damage. But like you said, Brainiac is already rather execution heavy, and this just adds another level. Sometimes, i'm so glad I forced myself to play this character.

you could also swap the throw and the trait, so the super move input remains the same nice tech video!

This is great even though I play default. This could help out people who would like to upgrade their Brianiac if the default layout is to difficult to use!

hey that's the first thing I did when I found out you can hold the trait......... also you can hold it and get hit and still let it go after..... you can also convert b12 in a merless or metered combo... which is fuckin SICK!

Hey k and/or m could you do a tutorial on instant airs? I can get lucky and do them occasionally but I can't do them consistently -- making it very difficult to do instant air dive kick.

This works so great on stick, especially if trait is near the thumb, stick players op? :P

is there a way to do those set ups in the corner using the mid hitting drone? A character like robin could easily guess correctly and punish for full combo because his d12 will go under the trait that would otherwise protect me, if it were the mid it would work as a way to keep you safe when you mix as well as continuing the combo...... U are safe against, say braniac cuz his full combo punish starts with standing 1 and the trait will hit them out of it, but... wonderwoman supergirl robin etc etc could eaily full combo punish if they guessed right..... if you can get full combo punished for a mix than that isn't really that good at a high level.
