Hi Andy how did you calculate the ink consumption on all 3 compared models ? Is there any common epson utility by using you were able to get the ink usage ?

Hi @harshascreation5560, Yes, Epson LFP Accounting tool. You can download it from Epson. Google your printer and go to the Epson page and look for the tab that says "support" and then "drivers and downloads". It will be under "utilities". This supports most if not all aqueous P series printers.

My 5 years old P20000 printer is dumping ink on the side of the unused paper after finishing a print. ( right in the area where the Printhead comes to rest ).Had the Epson tech here several times, last thing did was he replaced the dampers which cost close to $735 but the issue was not resolved. Any help appreciated !

What kind of material was the family photo printed on? Poster paper?

These were all printed on Epson Ultra Premium Luster Paper.

I think I can explain where that ink "cost savings" are coming from. I have just had a P6570 delivered to me. Using downloaded Epson paper profiles resulted in very light and dull looking images. After boosting saturation and shifting the hue towards magenta in printer driver settings I was to achieve satisfactory results. I didn't have to do that with my previos Epsons. I suspect P8570/6570 color defaults were set to lower density and/or lighter output in order to show better marketing numbers.

What application are you using to calculate exactly how much ink is coming out of each print? Is it an EPSON application?

Yes, it can print on banner and vinyl materials with an aqueous receptive coating. However, outdoor usage is not rated for long term exposure.

the biggest problem is not usage per m2 (15 ml/m2 approx here), but the price for pigment inks, it's too expensive, especially for europe market. if price was at acceptable level then all 3 printers would being sold good, but not only 44"

The colors on the school portrait look awful with the 8570. I currently run a Stylus 9900 and my customers would freak if I sold them that. I don't want to have to tweak the photo AND the printer settings every time I print.

Hello @rapid13, it's certainly hard to compare on video. We polled a pretty large sample size and many preferred the P8570 prints in a blind test. Epson offers a 12-color printer for a reason though! We're glad to run tests for you whenever it comes time to replace the Stylus 9900.

What is the difference between the P8570D and the T7770D.

Hi Tajuana, The difference between T-Series printers and P-Series printers, in general is that the P-Series is designed specifically for photographic print applications while the T-Series is designed for CAD/GIS and poster prints that don't require as critical of color. While it's hard to judge color differences via video, to my eye the skin tones of the P9570 look noticeably better. Do they appear this way in person or is the difference due to variations in lighting/angle?

The P9570 is better. I had IT supplies send me samples on canvas paper and I can totally see a color difference. I thought they had me sold on the P8570D but no. The P9570 clearly is better.

Hello StSam, The Epson P9570 is an excellent printer for just about any type of photography, including portraits, landscape, art reproduction, and many more. The 12 color inkset with dark and light colors paired with a solid print profile and image are key factors in producing a beautiful print. All stuff we can help with! Lighting and Angles will play a role, but rest assured, the P9570 will knock it out of the park when it comes to image quality and color output.
