Video 46: Demo video of InMoov in 2015.
Gael Langevin is a French modelmaker and sculptor. He works for the biggest brands since more than 25 years.
InMoov is his personal project, it was initiated in January 2012
InMoov is the first Open Source (CC-BY-NC) 3D printed life-size robot.
Replicable on any home 3D printer with a 12cm3 area, it is conceived as a development platform for Universities, Laboratories, Hobbyist, but first of all for Makers.
It’s concept, based on sharing and community, gives him the honor to be reproduced for countless projects through out the world.

@Medjed-fy9xo

@@universedocumentary8746pretty sure you cant install it because the database it uses is extremely big but it might be possible to access trough an internet connection but then again chatgpt is not open source so i dont think implementing it in a humanoid robot is not really possible yet

I see you have legs now. Do they work yet, or do they still have to be programmed? You should program one of these guys to build 3d printers and more robots. Once you have an automated supply line, the cost will drop dramatically. And if these machines remain cheap, than the fear of them replacing labor can be partially averted by making them accessible to poorer demographics too, and automating household tasks that would normally be too much for a single household to maintain, like indoor farming. I've always envisioned the automation of indoor farming facilities made out of cheap, plant based materials that could essentially grow most of the components required for their construction. They would grow things like food, textiles, paper, bioplastic, and modified algae cultures for ethanol, or isopropanol which can be used for fuel or to make polymers and adhesives, and that could be scaled up without any limits to labor, day or night, and completely independent of climate. And it would all be carbon negative on top of that. I live in canada and there's a lot of space that can't be lived on. If we could colonize the tundra with indoor farming facilities, it would be one small step toward colonizing harsher environments, like the antarctica, the surface of the ocean, and even the surface of mars. Not only that but controlled environmental conditions would help to increase crop yields by controlling airflow, and limiting the spread of disease. Bananas and other cloned organisms might never be threatened by extinction because we'd just grow cloned crops in isolation. This isn't directly related to the inmoov robot, but facilities like this, made primarily out of organic materials, would require constant maintenance, maintenance that a human labor force might never be able to live up to. Rather than building structures that are robust, we would build structures that are replaceable, and would constantly reuptake and recycle old components, resembling living systems. And since most of these materials would be accessible through farming, we would be able to drive the cost down and construct massive facilities with virtually no oversight. People fear losing jobs, but automation is really an opportunity to separate the labor to mouths to feed ratio. Each industrial revolution is attributed to a increased efficiency in this regard. A robotic revolution could be the ultimate industrial revolution, where everyone could potentially live like kings without social classes, or having to step on each other in order to be successful.

It won't matter that people prefer a hard days work if robotic laboratory is cheaper. And universal basic income is an inevitability at this point. Also, communism? Wtf are you talking about? If we had the technology, any business man would profit by putting into play what I just described.

Pipe dream? How many inventions started with the "Pipe Dream?" The airplane, landing on the moon, exploring the ocean depths, the Artifical heart, and more. No, my friend, it is people like you who have opposed exploration and discovery, and yet, benefit with it in the end. Robots taking over the world is SF, but robots doing the exploring and dangerous tasks that help spare human injuries can only benefit humanity in the long run.
@Jamex07
@Jamex07 7 жыл бұрын
My breath smells like I'm talking out of my ass? That's laughable. Especially since you sound like a singulatarian. Machines wont evolve to decide whats best for humans. Human intelligence is the product of billions of years of evolution. Artificially intelligent machines would still need millions of years to select out basic logical fallacies. There's a reason why it took billions of years for life to get this far. Also this statement is both wrong and ill informed. "A bored human can soon develop into a dangerous human." Did you know that the earliest civilizations would not have developed without staple foods? Rice, corn, wheat. These high carb foods radically reduced the work load of early man freeing up time for research and technological development. Studies on south Asian cultures have shown that communities that did not develop these cash crops did not have the free time to develop into productive, high population communities. The same will apply to automation. Free time = time to innovate. Robotics should replace human labor where humanly possible. Robotic construction, robotic farming, and robotic medical professionals will allow cheap housing and food and medical attention to be available anywhere on the planet, regardless of persons education. These innovations would radically increase the quality of life. Fear of not having a purpose has nothing to do with it. Also, your race analogy? Wtf was the point of that? More singulatarian B.S I assume. Automation will take jobs, but the human race as a whole will be better off in the long run. Automation separates the labor to mouths to feed ratio. There is a maximum GDP per capita that can be achieved due to this ratio. The industrial era decreased this ratio allowing the average GDP per capita to increase, increasing the quality of life for people across the board. But automated labor separates those two. In today's world its impossible to live a first world lifestyle while also producing all the goods required for ones survival by ones self. If you grow your own food, then its cheaper to sell the surplus and buy clothes off the market then to make your own clothes too. There's not enough time in the day to grow your own food, make your own clothes, build your own house, etc. That's what the market it for, and ultimate why goods cost as much as they do. Cost is a measure of efficiency. Human labor is still a factor in that equation, and there are always going to be people on the bottom performing grunt work and getting paid next to nothing for it because the economy simply can't accommodate for them. Separating the labor to mouths to feed ratio means that no matter how many mouths we have, we can build more machines to make up for the surplus labor required. That means if properly managed, we can all live like kings. The value of our dollar goes up, despite the work required to maintain that dollar going down. Collectively we become more efficient. As long as we look out for each other, everyone benefits. Oh, and as someone who has a little knowledge of biochemistry, forget about singularitarianism. Its pseudoscience. Consciousness will never be downloaded, consciousness is structural, not programming. Almost all of the assertions made by singularitarianism are turn of the century science fiction, and are firmly debunked by modern neuroscience. The singulatarian concept of artificial intelligence is no different from anthropomorphosis, just like the greeks did with the elements. Emotions are acquired adaptations. They're not something that can spontaneously emerge.
