That's how trains work. Huge generators power lots of electric motors because they have more power than gas engines.

If you in your future videos were to calculate and add your metrics in the metric system in addition to the imperial system, it would be accessible to the 95% of the rest of the world and to us seem far more interesting than it now does. As it is now, it's only interesting to the five percent of the people of the world that still use the imperial system for measurements. -Since you were asking for tentatively constructive criticism, I mean.
@wickedcabinboy
@wickedcabinboy Ай бұрын
I'm one of those users of the imperial system who can *_roughly_* translate imperial to SI on the fly. Frankly I do it all the time. For more precise conversions there's an App on my phone known as a calculator. Anything wrong with knowing more than one system?
@BearCY
@BearCY Ай бұрын
Why would you think that to be wrong,@@wickedcabinboy? I think that's a fantastic gift you've got. But do YOU find it wrong that others don't have the same gift that you have got, and that we fail to learn systems we don't need in our daily lives? For some reason I fail to see the point of your question.

The solar panels are an old technology that each generation futilely attempts. The issue is weather, battery storage, wasted space and heat reflected back into the atmosphere.

I've been living off the grid with solar for 7 years. They work!
@scotttovey
@scotttovey 2 ай бұрын
@@Eric12358 "I've been living off the grid with solar for 7 years. They work!" On a small scale such as in your situation, where you can make all the needed adjustments of adding batteries over time, and having a small generator at the ready in case the sun don't shine for X amount of days, they work quite well. On a large scale however, they don't work very well when trying to use them to provide the full capacity of electrical demand. This is why environmentalists continue to demand that people reduce their energy usage. There is only so much energy reduction any one of us can do before we either end up freezing or roasting to death. For mass distribution, relying solely on solar and wind is national suicide. That is why Germany started bring their coal burning plants back on line. Solar and wind is not reliable enough. Natural gas from Russia is a trap. Natural gas from the United States is unreliable when the President of the United States is hell bent on destroying the United States. Using solar and wind as the primary source of energy in the United States is like attempting to use a metric wrenches on an SAE nut and bolt. You may get a bite and it may look like it's the right size and going to work, and it possibly could, if you didn't have the added issue of using twelve point wrenches on a several foot pounds tight nut. The only thing that one will achieve in that situation is either strip the wrenches, or strip the nut and bolt. It's not about whether or not there are situations in which solar and wind will work or not, it's about using the right tool for the job. Solar and wind are not the right tools to use to provide reliable steady electricity for the nations demands. That doesn't mean it can never work. Timing is a factor as well. Sometimes, you have to wait until the engine has been running for awhile before you can start chucking logs into the chipper. Environmentalists however, do not want to have a reasonable time of start up, they want to transition as fast as one turns a light on with the switch. It can never work that way, and their refusal to both acknowledge and accept that fact, proves that their policies are not benevolent, they are malevolent.

Clean up is going to be a real pain. We had an industrial sized one. Worked on the same principle. Large paddles slinging the blasting media into a chamber. This chamber had a 6 foot revolving platform, where you would place your work pieces. Even being completed enclosed with a filter system, and a conveyor that reloaded used blast media. It was always extremely dusty around that machine. I can see the mess a completely open one is going to make.

That 165# Solar Panel SUV. invention that can travel an “additional 20 miles per charge” isn’t all that great. A solo driver would be having an additional added passenger being hauled around. And on cloudy and stormy days, then the “add becomes a drag” even before the trip starts. In snowy regions/conditions, what’s the very first part of the car to get covered up or frozen? The roof. Wouldn’t the military flexible batteries have been a better choice? Weighs far less than standard panels, and its flexibility allows for a smaller footprint on the roof. An extra plus is that the panel grids allows one or more to be damaged but the entire panel still works. PS: I’ll be generous and I’ll only take 2% of royalties or sale of the design by anyone who uses this idea.

A "taxi" that can only do 18 miles before it needs charged? In aviation you always leave a margin of error and spare fuel that can't be consumed during normal flight. I don't know if this figure is counted for spare battery life in those miles. Then, you have the gradual reduction in battery storage capacity. All this for a $332k. I don't see this being sold as any type of actual taxi. It'll just be for a few elites that want to give off the impression they are being good for the environment while simultaneously owning a rare toy to perhaps go to/from the office if within its range. Compared to the price of a gas turbine helicopter, they are inexpensive, but that range is a killer. Possibly both figuratively AND literally if not properly managed.

There's an issue with that bike rack. Most rear-mounted bike racks have the same issue: they block the license plate, which is illegal in most if not all, areas. You say farmers are moving away from using chemicals, yet North America still permits the use of a specific fertilizer which has been proven to be the cause of the ridiculous number of persons with peanut allergies. Thirty-five years ago, this was an unknown 'illness'. Peanut allergies are a very rare thing in other parts of the world. Genetic engineering of plants is the cause of the steep increase in gluten-intolerance cases!
