in grade school i played in a chess tournament for blue team, not knowing how to play chess at all, and apparently my first opponent didn't know how to play either, there were takes of pawns using bishops left and right, queen was sacrificed without question and without goal, and i somehow made it without losing all the way to a king-queen endgame i was black and didn't have a queen, but they didn't know how to checkmate with king and queen either, so the head librarian said "no takes in 50 moves, it's a draw" it felt so intense but it also looked exactly like the endgame in this video lmao and lmao i just remember playing french defense not knowing wtf a defense is, oh my god

As a beginner myself, this was the best chess video I've EVER seen in my life. I could really enjoy and understand the game. I mean: when I watch GM's playing most of the time I don't understand anything. They're thinking lots of moves ahead. I can barely think 2. Lots of times they simply agree on a draw I was like: "What? Why aren't you playing? There's a lot of pieces on the boardffs!" And the narration was awesome and thrilled me. The only thing that sets me apart from those 400s is that I know how to check with queen and king. But I'm pretty sure both of them could beat me eventually.

This is an incredible video. It reminds me of that meme where Gordon Ramsey is very kind to a young child in panel one and abusive towards adults in panel two ("you f**king donkey"). In Guess the ELO, Levy practically has steam shooting out of his ears watching some of the ridiculous moves play out on the board. And here, he is so incredibly kind to the lowly 400's. What an absolute gentleman. Keep up the great content Levy! :)
