Luckily it's Ontario which is a no fault province. Those vehicle's insurers will have to pay there own damages unfortunately.

That is going to cost the insurance company a lot of money. You can get it fixed. I sued one to fix my 71 Demon they hit; the bill ended up being over $70k.

As someone who got in a car crash semi-recently and had all her airbags deployed, you don't feel it. For me it was a "Oh shi-" moment and then when you "come to", everything has already stopped. Airbags really helped, the seatbelt is what bruises you the most :,)

@@alexs.818 I believe they are the “easily panicked driver.” They are so bamboozled of how much of a moron they are that they just don’t do anything. This case she didn’t hit any pedals and just steered. That type of driving is one of the scariest on the roads, should have licensed revoked for that, she could have killed those people at the trailer, let alone if someone just so happened to be facing the car show and not behind. The definition of an idiotic bad driver.

@4:26 Absolutely no way that car was going 100 MPH. Most likely 40-50 MPH. If it was going 100, there would have been almost nothing left of both vehicles. I was rear ended at a red light going to work, and the car that hit me was doing about 50 MPH. Similar results. Footage my lawyer obtained from the cameras at the red light made it seem like the other car was going at least 75 MPH.

well i think was around like 70 ish bc yk when you or somebody else is driving on a highway, the speed limit is normally around 60-75 and how fast they were going looked abt as fast as that which is very fast for a normal road. but like also ramming into a very clear, big van? bffr that's uncalled for and the driver of the white small car was either, depressed and wanted to end life, drunk, or on an a illegal substance. of none of these, i ahve no clue who they are and how there life was beforehand.

that person was just an idiot. There's no way it wasn't her fault, she basically stopped on the free way on the off ramp. Oh and she clearly knows nothing about physics because semis are huge and can't stop. I'm glad she's got two car payments, tho I'm wondering if she knows she was driving a civic. Where's the BMW and Hyundai coming from? I hope she was stupid enough to buy two cars, because that would make for 3 payments, including the civic. Idiot deserves to pay for her mistakes.

While that is true, it isn't always feasible. Use good judgement before hand, especially on the interstate, good Samaritans lose their life all the time doing just that. As a 21 year 👨‍🚒 I have observed on multiple occassions, traffic at times that doesn't even yield for a 40K lb 🚒 traffic blockade. Stay safe everyone and exercise space cushions and defensive driving on the regular. It will definitely increase your life span.

@@BillyBob-1776 That's why you also keep an eye in your rear-view mirror while slowing or stopping on a high-speed road. If you see someone closing in on you, you can possibly swerve or even accelerate to lessen the blow if they're going to hit you. It's called defensive driving and it has saved my bacon more than a few times!

@@BillyBob-1776 What I'm talking about is *while* the accident is happening in front of the cammer, he should have safely slowed/stopped as the situation dictated until he could determine a safe route. Instead, he continued towards the accident with little reduction in speed and then attempted to dodge the vehicle and debris as it came back across the highway, at which point he became part of the accident by driving through the wreckage and disabling his own vehicle. He was not driving defensively. It's a common theme in these clips, where an accident is occurring in front of cammers and other nearby vehicles and they continue on like nothing is happening, often becoming involved in the accident themselves. You can't predict where the vehicle(s) or debris will go during an accident, so drive defensively and be safe and smart.

could be a sharp turn? you tend to slow down for offramps when getting off the highway. you cant judge anything by the car lengths in front of him. that is in no way an indication of traffic flow because what if those cars were half a mile ahead of him getting off and he was the next car to get off there? you act as if every single car was getting off at that exit.

I also looked up Quebec's "no-fault insurance" rule, and it only applies to injury/death, not property damage. All Quebec drivers are still required to have liability insurance in case they are in an at-fault accident. @@liamwelsh5565 all "no fault" essentially means is each driver's insurance company will pay for their insured's vehicle damages. As opposed to tort provinces (Once Alberta) whereby fault is established by both the insurance companies and the not liable party subrogates the liable party's insurer.

If cops weren't so lazy in accident investigations, the proper fault could be attributed to the right person. So many times they refuse to get witness statements or refuse to look at video evidence. This is truly why dashcams should be in every vehicle.

16:46-17:42 I know where that is! It's the Eastshore freeway (east I-580 on lanes 1 & 2, West I-80 on lanes 3 & 4) through Emeryville, CA. That portion ends just before the Est I-580, beginning of South I-880 & East I-80 split.

But should learn to brake early instead of using the horn. I myself would have braked approx. 2 seconds ahead of her, and much harder from the start. It's easier to ease your foot off the brake than to step harder... when it's too late. In fact, I think the accident would never have happened if she had done that.

I'm actually surprised how many people are so quick on the horn, but seems like the braking lags a bit. I don't usually have time to sound the horn, as im braking and holding onto the steering with both hands to keep it going where i want it to go.

The onaping turn off at 7:40 is a dangerous spot. You’re turning onto the highway from a steep hill so it takes a second to really get going. Also, the highway comes from both ways on almost blind corners, you don’t have much time to see traffic coming and once you do, they appear coming at you at 100-120km/hr. You need to be sure , and you don’t guess especially not at night in the winter. Hope everyone is okay 🙏🏻

no-fault states means that you get insurance for yourself and your vehicle and if something happens, whether it's your fault or not, your insurance is in charge of costs. You are very restricted when it comes to getting reimbursement from the other party no matter what evidence/fault you have. It is supposed to be cheaper and less stress on courts by preventing litigation. But when someone else's stupid driving causes serious damage or harm to you, and you have to use your own insurance and induce a raise in premiums, it really fucking sucks.

@ericaleak3170 Here n Ontario Canada, no fault means your insurance covers your repairs but if they deem the other driver at fault, they will be making the other insurance company pay. They will also pay your deductible if you are not found at fault. My car has been hit a few times. I've yet to pay a deductible.

4:37 - As someone who lives in the northern NY I can attest that driving in snow/ice sucks. I'm a good driver and even I refuse to do it unless I have to. All you can do is take your foot off the gas and try to hold the road with minor corrections in steering. If you're slow enough, throw it in to 3rd or 2nd gear to apply engine braking.
