The cammer aggressively changed lanes in front of a semi, in the rain, and sped up so the other driver wouldn't get in. The other driver was cautious of semi and driver already in the lane. 100% on the cammer for aggressive driving in the rain.

It's ridiculous that people think because the other person is going fast they can change lanes quick, get hit, and think it's not their fault. You are responsible to ensure there is space to make a safe lane change, no one else. If they're already in the lane the you need to not cut them off. Also, arbitrary drivers like this are the problem. Absolutely no traffic in front of them, but immediately moving to left lane. If they were complaining the other driver was going too fast, these are the kind that sit in the left going slow causing traffic problems every day.

Any good insurance agent for the SUVs will push hard on the fact the cammer is driving too aggressive in wet/unsafe driving conditions. Had he just waited for that car to change lanes then pass while staying in own lane no collision occurs.

5:48 cammer sees the blinker, sees they are both changing lanes near the same time, and hits the accelerator causing an accident. Most of these can be solved by driving defensively. People would rather be right and in an accident than being wronged but safe.

About 80% of these collisions could have been avoided if people would be more courteous and use some defensive driving tactics. Just because someone is trying to get over doesn’t mean that you have to be an asshole and speed up to prove that it your space. Slow down and let them merge and one day they might do the same for you!

If you are talking about the Norfolk video people do that all the time. There are tons of exits like that where you have to merge all the way to the left or right immediately. And people don’t accelerate. They just keep going 30 on a 65mph road. So many accidents happen.

So you let in the SUV.... taking up the "safe space" in front you had created by driving safely..... and the SUV immediately starts to decelerate... and you hit the SUV because he did not use his brakes... Who gets blamed for the crash...?

@@austinh1028 There was not "plenty of room". There was enough room in front of the DC for an acceptable 'safety Zone' that the DC closely guarded for his own safety. Inserting another car in that zone made it unsafe for both vehicles. Sometimes you have to be assertive...had the SUV changed lanes and slowed down the DC would have rear ended the SUV... so being "at fault" Nah, not going to be allowed says the DC....

Most states count 15 mph over posted speed limit as reckless driving. He did a lane change and got hit by a reckless driver, thats why he was not at fault.

It's ridiculous that people think because the other person is going fast they can change lanes quick, get hit, and think it's not their fault. You are responsible to ensure there is space to make a safe lane change, no one else. If they're already in the lane the you need to not cut them off. Also, arbitrary drivers like this are the problem. Absolutely no traffic in front of them, but immediately moving to left lane. If they were complaining the other driver was going too fast, these are the kind that sit in the left going slow causing traffic problems every day.

Which I know there are many people still out there that think seatbelts take as many lives as they save, but it probably would have at least kept him in the vehicle.

All cars built after 1968 were required to have seatbelts and many had them prior to that. Possibly the belts no longer worked but they were built into that van.

@Breached Penguin depends on the reason he wants to get away. Sadly you can't see much beforehand. the hatchback brakechecks the Taurus, causing quite a dent in the hatchback. Afterwards the Taurus wants to flee. If the hatchback would've not brakechecked him, it would look like the Taurus wants to flee the scene after a hit-and-run. But the brakecheck of the hatchback implies something completely different. I still don't understand why you have to get faster, just slow down and wait until the other stops (and maybe get out of the car) then speed up. No use to make it like an action movie. It was her negligence that caused the accident which in turn caused his death. It will ultimately depend on the DA but vehicular manslaughter is on the table.

I drive a Chevy equinox Sport and the abs system went bad, but I just haven't fixed it and like 3 weeks ago it started raining when I was driving and when coming to an intersection with cars around me I started braking and the truck just started to slide to one side, but I didn't even get scared or nervous, I just let go of the brakes, corrected the steering and started braking again and all good That's the mistake that people make, they get nervous instead of focusing and correct it

The other van was already going quick and the light had changed to green on their end so they continued without knowing that someone would run the light, which is what caused the crash. Regardless they did admit they were riding the left lane with him tailgating. Both at fault and it could have been avoided had the dumb girl learned to drive to begin with. If someone comes up behind you then you are to yield and move to the right on a multi lane road. Not saying the truck was in the right(he obviously wasnt) but I can definitely see the frustration. Girl needs to learn the laws of the road and stop causing problems.

It is in fact stated in the book that you are supposed to move over if someone comes up behind you. With exception of an exit/turn on the left side. This is true for most states I believe. While you are at it reread what I wrote. REGUARDLESS of what the truck driver did, the girl shouldn't have even been in the dam left lane. Also should have moved over when truck came up behind. That's the bottom line. If she wasn't in the wrong the situation likely wouldn't have happened. Very sick of enablers of idiots. SHE WAS IN THE WRONG for not only this incident but likely tons of other people passing the idiot on the right because she wasn't yielding.....or riding in the travel lane. The Playboy from 9:50 is a grand example of impatient and stupidity even if he was "stuck" behind this guy for a long time that day there is no excuse for that behavior but that's like CT driver behavior sooo impatient.

8:42 It was fair! Check your mirrors before moving into lanes of traffic that are occupied! You don't know how fast you or they were going, your speed was much less than theirs and have the audacity to say it so unfair! Pay up bad driver!

@@EnhancedTrashBin There is no such thing as a fast lane. An overtaking lane maybe. However, undertaking is legal in USA but this just reiterates my point because all lanes become driving and passing lanes and none are fast lanes. Oh, and BTW, you don't know that they were speeding, just that the cammer says they were and, besides, speeding is illegal even if there was such a thing as a fast lane.

@@Tyler-yv1yd no completely on the cammer there is no excuse for not seeing someone right there youve got mirrors where you can see like forever behind you and blind spot check if you do those things you will see the car even if they are going over 100 and if you aren’t a psycho you won’t just cut in front of a car you see flying towards you.

2:37 I was on highway 75 in north Dallas, moderate traffic all traveling ~70 mph. I was fortunate enough to be right next to a car with those exact same wheels on a rough highway with skinny lanes! They NEED to be illegal, and that’s coming from a guy that modifies his cars and likes to race.

@ #18, you do know an on-ramp is where you speed up to get on the highway, and that you stay in the traveling lane until you’re up to speed right? You lane-changed all the way to the left right after you got on before you speeded up…. There’s a reason the other car didn’t get ticketed….

#29 Jerry Lotz 14:40 This video haunts me. I’ve seen the longer version which shows the drive leading to this on Mr. Lotz’ channel. The loss of life is terrible - I think of the van driver not wearing a seatbelt, the Kia driver blowing that red light, and I don’t think either person is necessarily deserving of death or guilt over a split second of bad decisions coming together. The reaction of the girls in the car is what I keep hearing - the “that did not just happen”, and “are you ok?” - that girls instincts are great and courageous. The other girl tells her to stay in the car - this too is out of a sense of responsibility - I am assuming she is the driver. “Are you ok?” - this is haunting. But it shows some quality young ladies in a small way. I hope they don’t let witnessing this have an adverse effect on them - it should just make them a little wiser and cautious drivers.

13:50 it is much safere to leave the injured person in the car unless there is threat of imminent danger such as a fire. They could progress any hidden injuries worse. ALSO IF YOU ARE IN AN ACCIDENT OR HAVE DASH LIGHTS ON FOR THE ENGINE TURN THE GOD DAMN CAR OFF UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO BOOM BOOM
