In the UK. You can be sent to jail for offending someone or hurting someone in the feels. There was a man in England some years back that got sent to jail for 8 months for giving the middle to a traffick light. They snapped his photo and that's how the police tracked him down. It's getting really draconian these days. This is beyond idiotic.

This is a very good point. This stuff isn’t just happening for no reason, there is something huge coming. Feels like waiting for the other shoe to drop. These laws are cladding for the state and its owners, like putting plywood up over the windows before a hurricane arrives. But the hurricane is their own creation.

I was one of the first victims of these types of wacky laws in the UK back in 2009. It basically derailed my life and forced me to move to another country, where I eventually became very successful, but all I can say is that you'll think that it won't affect you right up until the day it does.

Please, join the Canadian Constitution Foundation in their legal challenge against Bill C-64. In my view, it's an unnecessary piece of law that has the potential danger of giving autocratic powers to the government in office (whichever party wins elections). No special agency with undetermined powers should be created; we have a solid judiciary and law enforcement in this country although our insane Liberals are undermining their functioning through their progressive policies. An agency without defined powers and rules is tantamount to what happens in Communist China: Beijing approves laws for the entire country that are later written to fit the needs of moment. No to Bill C-64!

I believe we already passed the point of no return a while ago. The data is already accessible. They already do discriminate based on that behavior if nothing else for the fact that it reduces risk. You're describing something pretty bad but jumping the shark, because the boring reality is that it only takes a few cracks in the social contract for men to stop investing their lives into their careers. And at the rate they are screwing things up, we will not get a chance to have a "blog post ruined my life" moment before everyone will be in bread lines.

WTF has happened to Canada, it used to be such a cool, sophisticated, safe, common sense country that respected it's citizens, with a high degree of communal Trust, now it's like a cold, cousine of LA. Yeah it's all down to Trudeau. But some places are normal- the province of Alberta fights him on his woke policies. He lost the popular vote the last 2 elections. But Toronto has a high population- so they, and some of the East Coast helped him get in. Even so, he got a minority government...but the NDP, 'the workers party', vote in his favour every time.

If you have to have laws to protect children from certain topics from the internet, tv, newspapers, books. then you're living in a Police State. Your parents are supposed to be watching for this and should be teaching them that they need to ignore people's criticisms that are mean and offensive. It's not the government's job to go after people who say things that aren't true or make offensive remarks to criticize people for what they look like; like fat people or people of a religion or gay people.

How do you define a canadian? Unless you are a French Canadian most Canadians can't trace their lineage past one or two generations, including yourself, only like 10 percent of the population can go back hundreds of years, most of those people believe strongly in free speech, it's people in Canada who cling to their old world and third world point of view
