The problem is that there is too few people playing it. It's not like back in the days when you could play at any hour of the day.

TC is slow at creeping (and slow in general) with relatively low impact spells until he hits level 3. Orcs have the hardest time creeping early on (UD gets rod, HU gets militia, NE gets ancient of war) so you generally want blade or far seer to compensate for that.

My two cents.. I have still plenty to learn. Melee attack, no summons or mirror image for tank, scouting or increased damage output... Aura is very weak at level 1, makes no difference. Stomp is mainly to mitigate damage received (stunt duration vs. actual damage cuased, which is low), and at the start of the game the enemy doesn't do much damage to begin with, so not a lot to mittigate. Shockwave is kinda useful for creeping, and against some early enemy units, especially archers if elf, and HH if orc. Week harass potential (except for shockwave, which is costly for a low mana spellcaster, but can put pressure on the mining line for orc and human, and lumber wisps if opponent is elf). Choosing TC is mainly an opportunity cost, as the other heroes provide more options for early game dominance, so why not use that to your advantage, right? Additionally, the other heroes who are good as a starting choice, are less effective when they come later into the game, with the exception of Shadow. What Blade can do with mirror image and windwalk at the beginning is not equally useful at minute 10 when the game is well under way and the opponents are skirmishing.

@@slavkodesik855 just one thing, the stomp is as offensive as it is defensive, since it is a stun, a well placed stomp can deny exp / tp / potions - scrolls / positioning and spells, all of that makes it really worth it, but , like you said, not as useful early on since at the beginning the units and the players don't have as many resources

Takes too much mana I think

Better to cast a high level spell multiple times than use stomp and shockwave and drums are only endurance level 1, whereas TC can get more passive benefit from ranking endurance and then convert mana into damage via shockwave. Generally its not ideal to have multiple spellcasts unless they have very different utilities since your mana will be the limiting factor whether you have 1 spell or 2. Obviously not all heroes have that option, eg shadowhunter, but heal / hex / snakes also all fill completely different roles. On heroes with passives like archmage, blademaster, TC etc, you will virtually always want to take one spell and the passive to optimize mana usage (cast a higher level spell more often) while gaining constant value from the passive effect for free.
