Hello guys. Thanks for your visit and cool posting. Very well done. Some of your viewers may not be aware that we have two locations. One in Seattle and this one in Tukwila. Our Seattle store is our first location and we are celebrating our 25th year there. In addition to PC’s we sell and repair most of the Macs at our Seattle store. As well that location has a museum representing the hardware and software from the 1960’s through the late 80’s. We have already received many requests from around the globe about shipping equipment. Generally at this time where are not prepared to ship and support equipment, but we do encourage anyone living or visiting the Pacific Northwest to stop by. As we progress with our online store we will post changes to our website. Our best, Steve & Mark RE·PC

TRS-80 was my first PC. Fun fact: to this day when I'm typing out an email, I always pause when hitting 'backspace' to make sure I'm not holding 'shift' because doing that while programming in Donkey Kong would wipe out the whole line of code, not just the one/two characters. And that was a lesson that I learned 36 years ago! #goodtimes

Found this place due to this video. I've been up there to Goodwill and Value Village and never saw this place, but it blows all my previous thrifting away. CRTs, console, cords, adapters, cards, parts, pieces, you name it they have it. Spent two hours going from bin to bin just digging through stuff and giggling. Feel like looking for deals at thrift shops is (mostly) in the past. If I need a weird/rare/fun retro part these guys will either have it now or sometime down the road. Definitely worth the visit. (Also got to talk to Chris about some PC parts I'm looking for, which was kinda awesome.)

I am sorry I haven't discovered you sooner. You both are amazing and had to come back to post on the very first video which I subbed on. This store is not only awesome, it brings back the nostalgia of the good old computer fare days. Many people would frown at the old content and only buy, but many would love to come visit this location and help support it. Thank You for opening our eyes to a cool little center! I would love to own my TRS80 again :) or the Apple IIe or even my IBM 8088. Now we know where to go for an all-in-one shop.

See, if I had a place near me like this, I wouldn't have such an improvised (Yet entirely OP windows 98 PC). The system I have setup to run Windows 98 SE Plus!, and a lot of DOS games is a socket 478 Pentium 4 w / HT, 1GB (2x 512mb) DDR 400, a 80GB IDE HDD, some MSI mATX motherboard with an SiS chipset I cannot remember, a Creative SoundBlaster Live! Value PCI sound card, and a FX 5500 256MB AGP 8x GPU. I think it's powered by an old Dell 250 or 300w PSU, 'cause they're pretty beefy for the day and it has no extra wires dangling about. It's stuffed in this weird Antec branded ATX Mid tower case, which you have to remove the top of to remove the side panels of. Sooo, how'd I get windows 98 working on a ACPI based system with Hyperthreading, and functional USB 2.0? Painfully, slowly, and with 3rd party USB mass storage (So surreal in Windows 98) that's how... Let's start off with this, Windows 98 cannot format a drive larger than 40GB, no matter what. Windows 10 will not format a hard drive in FAT32 anymore... Soo, I had to build another parts pile to install Windows XP on, so I can format the 80GB IDE HDD in FAT32 for Win98... 'Cept Win98 is bugged the balls out now and keeps randomly rebooting or crashing, ACPI issues. Soo, I disabled ACPI, ended up reinstalling Win98 SE with Plus! (Spooky theme is my favorite). This time I had random crashes, and issues with anything that asked the CPU do to more than sit there and contemplate its new existence. After yet more troubleshooting, I disabled several more BIOS options including USB 2.0 support (Which I later reenabled after fixing a few driver issues, and finding ancient drivers that still work), disabled Hyperthreading, because oh boy, Windows 98 does NOT like hyperthreading. So, I reboot, I can now play Minesweeper, Solitare, and even defrag the hard drive without the computer crashing. Yay! But I can't game... Still can't... So, what do ya know? More old drivers instead of the latest ones I could find, lots of troubleshooting, and some third party USB mass storage drivers, it's set to go. The SoundBlaster Live! Value (NOT Dell OEM) works great with MIDI support (It's no Roland MT32 but it works very well), and games as modern as GTA San Andreas (Which for some reason runs better on the Windows 98 machine than my modern Windows 10 rig). Sad part is, I haven't had the time or motivation to find a decent 800x600 monitor so I just have to deal with games scaled down on a 19" or 17" 1280x1024 4:3 LCD... I wish I still had my old Trinitron CRT's... I had so many of them, some where straight up Sony, some where Dell's, some where Gateway's even... If anyone wants them, I can get specific driver numbers for nVidia, Soundblaster, and so on... If not,t his comment will vanish to the ethereal bottom of the KZfaq comment section... It's dark and scary down there... The trolls live down there, and they're always hungry... Can you hear them? Smacking their lips at the thought of the fools who venture to far into the dark? They're hungry...

Try a IDE2SD card for about $10, so you can get rid of all mechanical drives and take the absolute max out of your IDE channel bandwidth. It also makes it possible to easily backup the whole system and boot your DOS/Windows 9x system SD-card as a SD/USB-station on a modern machine for testing and file transfer.

There are all sorts of tools to format a hard drive to fat32 on windows 10. Here is one. You can find a bunch of others. www.verbatim.com/index/support.php?cat=9&action=downloads&pid=5395&aid=197

@Dead Reckon true but there's ways around that with 3rd party utilities and other methods. That is part of the old days. Also part of the "fun" in a sarcastic sort of way.

That's pretty similar to my Windows XP PC. Pentium 4 HT 3.0GHz, 2GB (1x1GB, 2x 512mb) DDR400, 2x 40GB IDE HDD, Gigabyte ATX motherboard, Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit and ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB. I also have a Win2K PC with a Pentium 3 866MHz, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, Asus CUSL2-C, 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP and WinME (my first ever PC) PC with a Celeron 333MHz, 384MB RAM, 6GB and 8GB HDD's, Diamond Micronics C400 motherboard, Diamond Viper V550 (NVIDIA Riva TNT)
