I got my license in 1976, and although it was the beginning of the end for muscle cars, a 16 year old kid is not buying a new car. I actually got a ‘71 Road runner with the six pack because it was cheaper than a lower spec power plant because of the oil crisis. What a fantastic car to start out on! If I didn’t have the car bug before then, I did after Of course growing up in Detroit I had the bug already. Mopar in Motown, great memories and a great time to be alive. Anyway my bright yellow 2017 Daytona 392 is the modern version of that car. Don’t know if I could enjoy a 71 the way I did before, you can’t go home again. A restomod 71 with a hellcat engine and modern suspension, hell yes, but that’s a lot of money there. As always enjoyed your video, take care and keep em coming!

66 and 67 Chargers had a fold down rear seat and could carry 4x8 sheets of plywood. The Charger 500 was built to try to get over the aerodynamic flaws of the regular Charger for NASCAR. The flush grill and flush mounted rear window helped but it is the Daytona that overcame those problems. The FWD Chargers of the 80's was a trim level of the Dodge Omni. Shelby even built a version.

Many people haven't heard about 1999 Dodge Charger R/T concept car. Which was 2-doors sedan, exterior wise was like a mix of Viper (front end) and '11-'14 Charger. It didn't go to production, officially - not to take the customers from Viper. If I understand correctly, the Charger, officially, through the Chrysler / FCA / Stellantis not exported to nowhere and sold only in US, Canada and Mexico (through the independent dealers - yes, people probably can import it to their countries).

I'm a Mopar guy 100%,and I own a Challenger. However, the one thing I can't get past with the modern-day Chargers is the fact that Dodge changed it to a sedan! The original body style looks nothing like the original Charger. It's basically a family muscle car.😂 On the other hand, the Dodge Challenger is a modern-looking version of the original body style from the 70's. And in my opinion, it's the last true muscle car in existence in terms of having a mean and aggressive look as a coupe to go along with the American Muscle.
